What shows have you watched that you have up on partway through?
Here are a few of mine:
Gurran laggan
I've started it at least 4 times, and I always check out about halfway through, even though I enjoy what I've seen.

Arrow
An excellent first two seasons, until it became the Felicity show. It got progressively worse with bullshit flashbacks and crossovers that required you to watch 2-3 other shows (that also sucked) in order to understand what the fuck is happening.

N.C.I.S
No Abby= no watch.

American horror story
I noped out half way through double feature. I don't understand why I watched it for as long as I did. It was never good.

The chilling adventures of Sabrina
Quit part way through the last season. Season 3 was so goddamn stupid that I almost quit then.

Resident Alien. Season 1 was enjoyable lighthearted comedy and the tension in the situation drove the whole thing forward. Then by S2 all that was gone and the writing was just any old shit they could put down on paper to make up an episode. There was no longer any reason to stay invested or care.
A shame really because I enjoy Alan Tudyk and want him to be in more stuff. But he's getting older and I don't think it's gonna happen.

The Walking Dead

Quit when they finally got to the Terminal.
I totally forgot about The Walking Dead. the entire show boils down to
" We cant go over there, that's where the zombies are!"
"But we gotta save character/fight guy!"
"Oh no, zombies!"
Shit got old after 4 seasons, I watched some recaps of later seasons and it was all the same shit, with new characters that I didn't care about.

Here's the full list of shows I didn't give up on partway through in my entire life:
  • Sopranos
  • True Detective Season 1
  • Breaking Bad
  • Better Call Saul
That's it. Everything else just gets fucking boring or drags on too long or is stuffed with too much globochomo shit.

But honestly the worst sin of modern TV is the fucking snark. I can't fucking take it anymore man. One more wacky quip and I will absolutely fucking lose it. Anime is degenerate slop but at least the nips have no concept of snarky humor the way we have it here.

Billions. It's a show about the DA of New York going after a Connecticut billionaire stock broker. It's implied that the stock broker is crooked, but not proven. On the other hand, the DA is a sick fuck. The wife of the DA works in the stock broker's office, so their lives are intertwined.

So you've got these two guys, powerful men, who hate each other but can't just get in a fist fight since they're under intense scrutiny and have to operate within the strict confines of the law. Cool idea, they have to mess with each other's interests by throwing machinations at each other without implicating themselves or their families. They even avoid using the word "billion" until the last episode of the first season.

The problem is that everyone in this show is a bastard. No one is sympathetic so there's no one to root for. It's also kind of gross. There's more than one perverse sex scene and other unpleasant imagery for its own sake, and yes, he's a sick fuck, thanks for reminding me for the third, fourth, fifth time.

Without spoiling it, a lot of the tension is let out but not paid off by the end of the first season. A lot of stuff happens but none of it seems to be very important or interesting.

I could never get into the show, but this scene was fun

I will never stop rewatching the simpsons but I'll never finish it. Its apperatetly at 751 episodes with half the cast dead and the other half recast for "cultural sensitivity". The latest episode I remember was the one where Homer's mom dies and I'm pretty sure that was over 15 years ago.

Vikings, after Ragnar dies it just feels like the story is finished, i watched the rest of season 4 and tried getting into season 5 but gave up after 1-2 episodes, it just isn't the same without him. also from what i hear vikings valhalla sucks ass

Westworld. Season 1 was good. It wasn't the best show ever, as the groupmind was saying at the time. I'm not even sure why it was so popular - maybe because it had a diverse cast and strong female characters? Or people really liked that horsefaced prostitute? I never got into season 2, the showrunners took the wrong lessons from season 1. I've only watched YouTube summaries of the last two seasons and can't figure out what is going on and what the showrunners were trying to say.

How TF did you stick with BCS? It moves so slowly I was done a few episodes in.
I gave up after season 5. It was padded out to hell. Four seasons for him to become "Saul"? Gimme a break.
