Sid Meier's Civilization

Civilization 4 and 5 are very good. I like Civilization 7, it will only get better with time. It has a lot of potential.
I'm strongly of the opinion that Civ 7 was just half baked. Literally. They essentially did an Early Access release with out stating it(and charging up to $130) for it. And then are doing an awful DLC scheme to pay even more to get a finished game.

It doesn't feel like anything was playtested in Civ 7. I really think they just got it functional and rolled it out. It's a bad start, and I'm not entirely sure they can turn it around. I think Civ 6 really was the best Civ has ever been, and while it wasn't anywhere close to that at launch, it was also no where near the mess 7 was at launch. I'm still playing a game every month or so, checking up on progress, and I do think it's better than other companies attempts at a historical 4x, but I ain't giving Firaxis shit for DLC until I really think they gotten the game into a good state.

I pirated it. I don't like the online multiplayer experience on Civ anyway. There's always one or two who leave soon, a few who take too long, and then a few who don't see the game through. I play it singleplayer or LAN with friends on the rare occasion. Although it has been some years since I played Civ4/5 on LAN.

Is a demographics screen a thing in any Civ vidya past 2? Like that one screen which shows the GNP, family size, approval rating, etc?

I don't recall if there's such in 3, it's definitely not in CivRev, and I'm pretty sure it's not in 6 either. I like that one feature.

For the next 30 dollar DLC you get Genghis Khan and a Pajeeta.

4 and 5 both have them. 4 will even semi-regularly have popups telling you who is leading in what.
This happens in 5 too for one category at a time. But you can access a demographics summary at any time. That said there is an easy-to-install mod called info addict which basically has most of the detailed and immersive info you could want in a nice UI. Not sure if there is an equivalent for 4.

Its in 3 at the win/lose screen. I think there's ways to see it with hot keys too.

This guy has his head screwed on right. His evens/odds theory is popular among old skool civ-heads and you'll notice that I brought it up earlier in the thread, though I also stand by modded Civ III being way better than vanilla Civ IV Complete.

Civ 5 is fetid garbage and... oh I see, 7 is better than 6 too,
Civ 5 is an improvement over 4. Civ 6 is hot unplayable garbage that is confused as to what it wants to be. Civ 7 has its flaws, but the mechanics are solid and the districts are handled much better than in Civ 6. No, I'm not trolling. Why is Civ 5 fetid garbage? Don't tell me it's because Civ 4 uses Baba Yetu song and Civ 5 uses "Terra Nova" in the intro? I should have been clear that I am talking about Civ 5: Brave New World, don't know if that makes a difference to you.

Aw, I like Lakshmibai's tale (and her appearance in FGO) but she's still another symptom of the 'find any woman to stick in' that 7 is really plagued with (6 had it too but its 3x worse here). Perfect Great General fodder in any other game though
