The Game
Signalis is a Isometric Survival Horror Game that wears its influences on its sleeves, Eva, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Lovecraft, The King in Yellow, and hell even has a System Shock Reference in there too. I almost don't want to talk too much about the game, it is truly worth a playthrough if it sounds interesting to you. Pirate it, buy it from a key reseller, commit tax fraud to buy it, however you get it I truly recommend you give it a shot in spite of the Devs or fanbase.

THE COMMUNITY
We all know why we are here, well most of us at least, the community.
Signalis is a game that features a Lesbian romance, as such it attracts a very particular type of people.
There are 3 Main places you'll see the Fanbase. Twitter, The Subreddit, and The Discord.

THE REDDIT
As of 2 Months ago, with the Sex Update , the Subreddit and the Discord rejoined and the subreddit brought on Moderators from the Discord to help Moderate the Sub.

As such, consider the Subreddit and Discord one and the same.
The Sex Update reworked the rules of subreddit to allow for NSFW posts on the sub, which were prior outright banned. While this update was largely well received by users, a select few were upset at the change, namely one type of NSFW post.

As you can see here, some of the users weren't quite a fan of seeing men on the subreddit, and took it upon themselves to attack these posts.
See, Signalis and its community is a "Queer" space, but when you look deeper, its less of a LGBT accepting space, and more of a L&T Accepting space, with the rest of the fags being ignored.

Mods would later ask the community if NSFW was really that bad on the subreddit, reiterating the line that the Subreddit is a Queer Community.

The Final update on NSFW would be the results of a poll, showing that, almost universally, the NSFW was accepted by the Users of the subreddt. Polls and Censuses will come up again.

The Census shows that the Majority of the Subreddit considered Themselves LGBT, with 36% of them being Trans, As was shown in a earlier update, the Mod team is also 100% LGBT.
(Remember, these numbers are just based of the people who responded to the poll.)


THE DISCORD
While the Subreddit is probably a closer representation of the larger Fanbase, the Discord is where the hardcore Members are.

(The Server also has a role selection including pronoun selection, while not nearly as unhinged as other discords we've seen, its still worth note.)

The Server is a bit of a mess, with the main channels being flooded with discussion, new messages being posted nearly every second. (Usually just a single word or something like that.)
As such, I haven't done proper digging to find anything funny or relevant to the Thread yet, so this section is going to be pretty barren.

The Discord also did a census, not surprisingly the numbers of LGBT members are even higher on the Discord.

For the quick number rundown:
50.6% of the Discord consider themselves Male
Only 26.7% of the Discord considers themselves Straight
Nearly half (49. 2%) of the Discord consider themselves Trans.
45.7% Consider Themselves BI, 65% of the Discord is between the ages of 18-25 and 16.1% are between the Ages of 13-17.

While I haven't seen it outright mentioned anywhere on the discord, its safe to assume that much like the subreddit the Discord mod team is 100% LGBT, likely with a heavy bias towards the T.

I was there from the start of the shit storm and If I was a good Kiwi I would have archived shit and made a thread in Games about it probably, I really regret that I didn't, but here's what went down from what I saw on twitter.

On April 3rd, 2024, Twitter User CSAlfredo posted a meme about Signalis

This meme began to gain traction until it was discovered by Signalis Fans, at which point they began a "War against the Chuds"

I feel like the best way to talk about the Twitter side of the Fanbase is focusing on 3 large members. (actually 1 Large member and 2 Less large Members)

Atelier is by far the most popular fan artist for Signalis, being a Animator for over 13 years when she found Signalis it isn't shocking she started making Fan Animations for it.

I added this section since I feel its worth noting that the Fanbase doesn't exist in spite of the Devs or Game, the Devs are well aware and encourage everything you see, directly and indirectly. We've seen a lot that Trannies and their Ilk can take over a fanbase and throw out the old guard, and while LucasSomething's Post shows something like that did happen, the Devs are aware and seem to be overjoyed with it.

The Main Character is a lesbian and there aren't any straight couples in the game, but it isn't like its full of Pride Flags and constant "Your So Valid" Shit, its a part of the game but literally nothing would change if you made the PC or the Lover a Male.

I thought the game was very good when I played it a while back. The whole lesbian element is basically only something brought up at the end. It's more of a tragic element than any kind of "queer representation," as it's partly the reason why everything went to hell in the first place. Weirdos latch onto it because they're weirdos. You don't see them talking about the game's depiction of communist regimes as totalitarian hellscapes, because it doesn't get them aroused, even though it plays a much, much bigger role in the aesthetics and plot.

It doesn't have anything to do with the game. The last patch was in December or so, just adding in Dualshock controller support.

I really, really urge people not to write off single-player games due to fanbases. If it's content in the game that you can't stand, then fair enough, but I didn't have to spend time interacting with any Twitter or Discord vagrant to play through and enjoy this game, or other similarly community-cursed ones.

Sorta, Lore Spoiler but Replika's don't really break down, they just remember their human lives and when they remember they become less efficient workers. None of the Persona Stabilization Techniques are done to prevent them from going crazy, just to keep them as efficient and emotionless workers for the Nation. The Events in the game are more than likely the because of Ariane's Powers mixed with Cosmic Horror shit (Ancient space god or whatever)

In a flashback sequence the MC's lover gets a letter from the regime saying don't expose the replika (the MC) to any movies or music and don't treat it like an actual person, she ends up doing exactly that, which inevitably leads to the world being stuck in a hellish eldritch time loop.

So funnily enough you can argue that the lesbian relationship is the reason why everything in the game's world is so shit.

I actually finished Signalis not that long ago, and I even enjoyed the game quite a bit. I had a inkling that the community surrounding the game was going to be cancerous while playing...
