It looked like that to me tooIs it me or did they make Angela thinner closer to her original design in the new trailer? They avoid any direct shots of her face in the story trailer but she looks skinnier from what little I could see.
The constant ghosting around James is so bad.
UE5 moment. The constant ghosting around James is so bad.
Can't fix the voice acting downgrades which carry the story. The story is also bloated now with abysmal side content (a music shop with predictable mosnter ambushes before you even encounter the first one, really makes you miss Team Silent and how they did interiors). Konami wouldnt pay the og actors if you watch The Real Silent Hill Experience and fans had to fight to get the og voices in the hd collection which were terrible. Only for 2. Reminder that they are fine to pay for the MGS3 actors but not for SH2. They have all the pachinko money and Yu-Gi-Oh money they want and can't just give fans what they want. Hilarity.Maybe it's the angles but she doesn't have that doughy face and double chin in what little we see.

I remember all the voice actor drama mostly because the same things the SH2 cast had asked for was mocked by the same establishment actors who then began demanding the same shit during their gay ass strike back in the mid 2010's.Can't fix the voice acting downgrades which carry the story. There's only four games so not sure what else you'd want to waste your resources on unless you really like low IQ fan games like Shattered Memories.FYI the CEO of Nightdive is interested in remastering 5 Silent Hill games. (1-4, maybe origins or SM). Konami likely won't let this happen. I'd be happy if they did. "That would be a really big one on our list"
Sad that Konami won't do it.

So this is actually the norm for all these remasters using the same performances, voice actors never get re-paid for reuse of performance, whether they should is it's own discussion. Also technically it was already an issue back when they released the Greatest hits and xbox versions of the game since those are also new SKUs.Konami wouldnt pay the og actors if you watch The Real Silent Hill Experience and fans had to fight to get the og voices in the hd collection which were terrible. When he is outside at 1:22 it looks like those fake remakes trailers that you can find on Youtube.
Nor should you, I sense no lynchian-vibes in the demake.Trailer is a great reminder that Bloober Team is inbound for the biggest fuck up in remake history. I still have zero faith.
And the early 2000s cgi actually works to the game's benefit, which is a rarity. I don't think it looks awkward, it looks purposefully designed to invoke a certain feeling of strangeness or dark foreboding. Perfect wallpaper material.Trying to top Takayoshi Sato's work on the CGI cutscenes is a fruitless endeavor. He absolutely nails how surreal everything is.
Shit was very telling of Troy/McG's true character. It was pretty disgusting, that's the main thing I remember from the old HD collection days.I remember all the voice actor drama mostly because the same things the SH2 cast had asked for was mocked by the same establishment actors who then began demanding the same shit during their gay ass strike back in the mid 2010's.
Mary McGlynn, the SH singer, mocking them as some group of cheap "Malaysian voice actors" and mocking Donna Burkes performance as Angela is peak retardation from someone who has a one note acting ability.
And the PS2 version remains the only "highest" quality FMV cutscenes we have because its the only version that renders them in true 60fps, which adds a lot to these scenes compared to shitty AI upscales and downgrades on other versions that render in 30fps possibly due to limitations or to be coherent with the 30fps gameplay. And the early 2000s cgi actually works to the game's benefit, which is a rarity. Yeah I hope he's ok too. There was this indie horror game series he was supposed to be a major part of but I don't know if that ever got off the ground. So this is actually the norm for all these remasters using the same performances, voice actors never get re-paid for reuse of performance, whether they should is it's own discussion. Also technically it was already an issue back when they released the Greatest hits and xbox versions of the game since those are also new SKUs.
Why that became an issue at all os because Guy Cihi, voice of James had a principled stance of not being ok with how Konami handled it, there was never an official contract granting Konami the right to use those performances in perpetuity so Guy, not being concered about getting blacklisted from the industry since he's just some business guy raised a stink because they didn't own the rights to those performances. Technically if he never brought this up there never would have been any issue regarding this and Konami would've just reused them.
The resolution was that most of the actors signed away their rights (they still werent paid for the reuses) and Konami now officially owns those performances to reuse them (except heather morris who couldn't be found at the time so 3 HD doesn't have og voices). Guy didn't care about money he just saw it as incompetence on Konami's part. But the reality is this is just how the game's industry works and Guy is a business man who cares about his rights, he's a professional.
Also speaking of Guy he's vanished from the internet, last post I can find by him is facebook in january, instagram is dead, twitter is privated his youtube stopped uploading 2 years ago. Hope he's okay.
