You say that like it's a bad thing.

Agreed that the transporting from North America to 1960s Japan is a bizarre choice because half the charm comes from then nips imprinting their own westaboo, twin peaks sensibilities onto the setting. I think that this is kinda similar to then situation with nuPrey from a few years ago regarding the name: if this had been called anything but Silent Hill there'd be a lot less animosity toward an otherwise pretty okay looking horror game.

Remains to be seen what we end up with, of course. For what it's worth it looks cool to me and I want them to stick the landing.
Precisely. I love Fatal Frame for different reasons than I love Silent Hill.

It's from the Higurashi guy. If I wanted Higurashi, I'd go read or play Higurashi.

Hell of a disclaimer for Silent Hill F

"Remember to take a break and talk to someone that you trust"

Who the fuck is this supposed to be for? Adult manchildren who relate to panic attack scenes in kids movies?

If a game is too scary or offensive for you then why did you bother playing it?

"Remember to take a break and talk to someone that you trust"
"Mommy/Daddy/Fam, this game is so scary and it triggers me so much. I need some comforting words and an ice pop to calm myself!" -some triggered man-child after playing a mature-themed video game for a few minutes

If people past their teenage years can't handle adult themes in video games, tv shows & movies and they have to be reminded of possible trigger warnings every time then they have to get out of their comfort zones because reality is way harsher.

There used to be "warnings" on games that just said "there may be some mature content, and violence" and that was it, and I think even that was too much - but because of those sorts of minimalist content warnings from years ago you have people squawking about how modern "content warnings" riddled with therapy-speak like SH f's are just fine and normal. These new content warnings are like drug commercials listing side effects for people who smugly talk about "media literacy".

Look at the disappearing/ghosting shadows when she moves her feet at 1:18. This trend of abusing upscalers and post processing needs to finally die.

In the 90s you'd see those "violence and gore" warnings. But I always thought they were padding against angry soccer moms who retardedly bought their six year old Resident Evil. Who is this warning for? Are people so fragile that they cannot handle a game where people might be a little bit mean? Maybe it's just there to keep retarded zoomers from thinking that the devs condone violence and sexism.

I think it's really a zero balls choice regardless. Disappoint.

The disclaimers are probably there as CYA material to avoid litigation, because the story is going to be some weird miseryporn shit that pretends to be deep. That's that writer's calling card.
They're also probably advertising. This game is aimed at the kinds of retards who see weird miseryporn shit and think it's deep.
Looks like it's another walking simulator, not that it's particularly surprising when the only selling point was "well, this guy who wrote some VNs is working on it."

Thank you. It's nice to find someone else who sees Ryukishi07 for the pretentious hack that he is.

Listen, there’s actually a use for these kinds of warnings. Even though I wasn’t gonna buy this piece of shit game anyway, a warning like this is fantastic so I know which games to avoid.

I had never heard of this retard before silent hill f was announced, but hearing that he made VN’s about little anime girls made me automatically dislike him.

Disclaimers like these exist because activists protested to have them in the game. Such disclaimers insinuate that games can have profound effects on people, and therefore justify politically motivated regulations. That is the fundament for trannies and feminists to bitch about misandry and transphobia, include Debra Wilson into anything and have 2 guys have a mandatory unskipable sex scene with each other.

Game devs think they can protect themselfes against outrage with such disclaimers, but its actually making it worse.

To +1 the previous post: All content warnings serve to do is chum waters populated with bottomfeeding journoscum eels; so they'll know there's problematic content to denounce if the publisher is unwilling to be extorted into purchasing positive press with ad space.

Some of them added to the tone of the game. Especially the Resident Evil games. "This game contains explicit violence and gore." = get ready for a fun game.

But this, in current year, I agree with everyone else.

It’s one thing to argue for content warnings or even censorship on behalf of children but the premise of “trigger warnings” was always that adults could no longer be expected to regulate their emotions any better than children and that’s what the people who insist "trigger warnings" are necessary have encouraged for over a decade now.

Also, adding trigger warnings to games with mature ratings is a bit redundant, but people have to justify their fake jobs.

They made this a silent hill game for brand recognition. It looks decent, but I'll wait until I see some people stream it first. I also do not trust Konami to not fuck this up.
