Silent Hill

Even without the feminist themes and underage lesbianism $70 for a 6-7 hour campaign is an extremely hard sell.

I don't expect every game to be an expansion JRPG or CRPG with 100+ hours of content but as games get progressively more expensive they are going to have to do more to justify their increasingly questionable pricing.
 
Japan has already had numerous yuri and feminist angles within its stories for decades now. The main writer for the game, the dude who wrote higurashi and umineko, also wrote on those themes too. Even kojima was thoroughly westernized by the time he was making PT. Then there's 3 with the obvious feminist themes too which are likely worse than whatever is in this game to be honest. If you are somehow surprised by these themes, you have been blind to the content you've been consuming this entire time. Really, the only j horror franchise that has never had any themes like feminism has been resident evil and even that franchise has strong female leads who need no man.

I don't take issue with the length. Horror games have always been short. It's that 70 dollars is a stupid amount of money in a time when everyone is poor. I'm going to wait until a breakdown of story before making any rash judgements about the level of wokeness. They are Japanese after all so their definition of feminism might not have the anti-male and equity focus of the western equivalent.

Edit: I take back what I said, the game is as bad as I thought.

I think for me I don’t really find how long it is that’s the problem, but the quality of those hours. I think it would be fine for the most part if it was an actual good game with no low points, which I highly doubt it is. A game like vanquish is 4 hours but every minute of it is great.

On another topic I’m wondering who is stupid enough to actually believe this is a silent hill game when everything I’ve seen shows that the name was just slapped on.

Also I just looked at some spoilers and…
There’s a fucking souls-style boss where she has a wolf arm. A fucking giant wolf arm. This is actually fucking retarded. Who could possibly say this is silent hill? I should also mention that I’m getting sick of every “silent hill” game copying the plot of silent hill 2 but doing it badly.

The real question is if anyone expected anything from the retarded cuck that gave us such classics as: dude space parasites lmao, dude without love it cannot be seen, bullying.....is bad!, racism........is bad!, war.........is hecking bad! And has spent almost an entire decade refusing to finish his vn because of covid and ukraine or some other stupid bs.

Yeah I don't really understand why anyone thought this could possibly be anything more than the guy's usual fare with the name Silent Hill slapped on it. How many times now have we seen some dumbass basically make fanfic in game form?

Konami has been handing around the license like a two bit whore for the past five years now. Anything with the name silent hill on it can just be disregarded as someone's shitty fan fiction or a failed artist needing to bank on the name of someone more talented.

Randomly been skimming through a long play. The story is exactly what you would expect.

Well that's awfully on the nose. I'd probably consider playing this for like 30 bucks. Although now that I think about it, it'll likely be cracked soon as it has no Denuvo just like SH2R.

I would hazard a guess the violence is what gave this the Cero Z rating. Stellar Blade has panties everywhere uncensored and got away with a D rating. Age doesn't matter either I assume? Project Justice finally got re-released and that has tween-teen upskirts, cleavage and bloomers everywhere.

It's why I yar har fiddle dee dee'd the MGS3 remake in the end. It looked good, but facing $70 greed for rehashed content is silly. Especially when the move to $70 dollars is a recent and completely bullshit thing based on Goytendo's recent moves. I often cite the Metroid Prime Remaster released a couple years ago. You have dozens of hours of content, an amazing graphical glow up, and it's $40. Which product offers me the better deal? Metroid. I also like Metroid more as a series, so the choice and better bargain is clear.

I'd say they've been doing that ever since Team Silent died after 4, with every game after game more underwhelming than the previous. I did like origins, not that it's a rare take in the first place

I would dread to replay it multiple times, niggas really expect us to play the story of lesbian japenis girl 5 times in a row for all the endings

Been watching a playthrough (a little over five hours in). Yeah, this is literally not Silent Hill in anything else but name and “hey look, fog!” They really shove the combat down your throat; I got annoyed just seeing enemies constantly pop up, so I can only imagine how frustrating it is actually playing.

I was willing to pass f off as a mediocre spinoff until the fox arm. What the actual fuck were they smoking?
