Listen man, I came from a background with absentee parents, so I think I can give you a little worthwhile advice:

a) YOUR KID(S) should take priority in your mind at all times. Your actions do not affect you, and you alone; your children are equally affected by every action (or inaction) you make. Green card marriages are fucking shady as hell and will warrant undue USCIS scrutiny upon them because (the organisation formerly known as) INS wants to make sure that your kids are cool with a complete foreigner moving in with them and becoming a legal guardian. That's not even getting into how they feel about the situation they're currently in, absent of any surrogate mother figures in their life(s).

b) Ignoring your children and focusing on you, now: have you ever thought long and hard about the socioeconomic, cultural, and religious aspects of getting into a green card marriage with anyone from a third-world country? As stated above, the types of women who partake in these types of green card marriages are not necessarily role models for the impressionable, vulnerable, and young. Using your Filipina fling as an example here:

- The Philippines is poor as fuck, to where every fucking family has at least 2–3 relatives working overseas sending remittances back. Unemployment has been a decades-long thorn in the side for the Philippine government, and it's not uncommon for adult women to do SW online (i.e. cam shows, OnlyFans, independently selling nudes on social media, etc) to split the difference where remittances and meagre starvation wages don't add up.

- Single, Filipina mothers are an alarmingly common sight because of two reasons: inaccessibility of contraceptives and family planning services and the pervasive influence of Catholicism (and Islam to a lesser extent) which makes talking about such services taboo. At best, she got knocked up because she was coerced into giving up her virginity to a man who pumped/dumped her. At worst? She's an ex-prostitute with the bastard child of some long-forgotten John. This phenomenon is not unique to the Philippines, mind you; this is the norm for any third-world country that white Americans will shamelessly visit for sex tourism.

Sources for the above? Watching way too fucking many of my online friends buy into the online relationship with someone from SE Asia only to come out mortified when they realise just how dark the abyss truly was. Take what I say with a grain of salt (or an entire mine's worth), but please take it to heart and think before you act.

3. Work from home as a translator.

I raised 3 kids on my own since getting custody in 2005. Lived near family for a decade before moving from the boonies to a city so they could actually socialize with people they weren't related to outside of school. All 3 graduated high school, two have found jobs they like while the youngest is still trying to find his place in the world... My eldest is still junior high age. He is getting into CAD. He likes designing things and seeing how they turn out on the 3d printer. The middle one likes editing videos. Mother fuck. I actually gave some of the sob story that you wanted, but I'm so incompetent that I lost it among my later shit posts. Moral of the story was I had it real bad after the wife ran off for fucking years and when she did show back up she made life even harder for not only me but also the kids subjecting them to traumatic things trying to get her way and then not getting her way and running off again and there were rape kits and expulsions involved and I still have custody and she is still a cunt. I've had it hard. My kids have had it harder. I move on and move my kids on. In the end this was a shitpost. I appreciate your concern though.
