This is what I never understood. Why do some people lay all blame at the feet of the mothers and give a pass to the father who ran away? Honestly this is why I’ve just chosen to wait. I’d never want to put someone in that situation and it wouldn’t be right for me to potentially bring a child into the world who I might not be able to be there for.

The issue i see (and this is purely anecdotal) is that for an average man looks wise women expect him to have a high paying job but for a good looking man he could be a bum still living with his parents.

It's because often women assert that men should have no say in reproduction and then demand he pay out the ass regardless of whether he wants the baby or not.

That being said, I agree. I posed the opposite viewpoint. Take away the gibs and put the deadbeat Dads on the hook for MORE. Place the burdens on the fathers who choose not to support their children. Go harsher on them while taking away the gibs. I've also suggested give the gibs, but they're liable to pay it back. However, nobody in this entire thread so far has even acknowledged that as a possibility. It has been staunch lockstep opposition regardless of whatever alternate solutions could be made. I'm only left to imagine that there's no solution that could possibly be suggested. If we're not willing to compromise or come to a solution that doesn't give endless tax dollars to women in this situation through no fault of societies, then why should I change my mind on the single mother issue? No alternative solution has even been entertained in this thread.

We're not in the dark ages anymore. Women can work and make more money than men.

I'm perfectly fine with giving temporary aid to single mothers who are victims of actually convicted domestic abuse or widows or veterans. I just don't think it should be permanent. Or if it is endless, then there needs to be reimbursement. We shouldn't just be handing out taxpayer money to anyone to ask for it.

Edit: Look, the real problem everyone seems to have is with taxpayer gibs going to single moms. I don't think anyone has nearly as much of a problem with single moms if they weren't given gibs by Daddy Government. Does anyone have an alternative solution?
