I wasn't having much luck finding weird stuff so I decided to check how the Ben 10 community was on Tumblr, besides the already weird BenXGwen shipping it proved bountiful.

Weird obsession with giving Ben freckles.

There was a bunch of gay shipping art for BenXGenerator Rex (there's a crossover episode that fueled this) and with omniverse came BenXRook shipping even when the series is known for giving Ben a bunch of alien waifus.

I couldn't tell this was supposed to be Ben at first, also more confusing inclusion of freckles. I can't tell if the guy in the grey sweater is supposed to be Kevin Levin or somebody else.

Bonus Tumblr nose.

It wasn't as depressing as I thought it would be seeing all this crap, most of the tags seem used more for actual good art or meme shitposts.

He is talented.
He has this modern Disney/Pixar concept art style. And understand cartoon stylization and all.
No SJW agenda.

But... he is trying so hard to make everyone "quirky" cartoon that his (mostly anime) fanarts remind me of this thread.
Again, reasons are very different, but results are similar - pretty characters are turned into caricatures. But here artist can draw and it's just his choice. Sometimes his interpretations just don't fit story tone for me. Of course, those are just fanarts and this style was not chose for orginal show/game/whatever. But it's still a bit jarring difference?
I'm posting it here just because I'm curious what do you think. Not because art is bad per se.

What I was trying to say - this artist makes characters less attractive in his fanarts, but it has nothing to do with art posted in this thread. It's because he just likes caricatures and very cartoony/comedic stylization a lot.
Sometimes it's a bit jarring, because it just does not fit the tone of original story.
It's similar on surface level (making attractive anime/game characters more of less perfect caricature), but at the same time so, so different.

Most of the characters feel either older or younger than they actually are, and a few even look unrecognizable. This isn't as bad as the other shit I've seen, but c'mon, it can't be that hard to not make a teenage girl look like an old woman.

It’s like his idea of making different body types is to make the top half and bottom half of a person belong to completely different builds... sometimes not even with the right proportions. The Madoka Magica, NGE, and Heathers art are especially guilty of this.

Also the more undeniably Asian characters look extra caricature-y. Not as bad as some SJWs who go full buck-toothed “Slap a Jap” propaganda or black-wash, but still noticeably off.

EDIT: Looking at it again, I wonder if a lot of the problem is that he clearly not looking at references when he draws. Just from a glance: Zuko’s scar is on the wrong side, Ritsuko’s outfit is wrong, Gendo’s outfit looks like it was lifted from Dr. Robotnik rather than NGE, and everyone’s outfits in the Madoka Magica image are missing a bunch of key details. It’s like one of those “spot the differences” games but for fan art.
