Basically, in the Kirby setting, there's a race of eldritch horror beings called the Dark Matters [Clan/Race] who are essentially mutant parasitic eyeballs of darkness who are ruled by a white eye called 0/Zero. You can tell if they're in a game because you'll see generic enemies that happen to have single eyeballs, and generally you can also recognize them if you look at enemy lists from Dream Land 2/3. The more [in]famous ones, however, are the ones simply called Dark Matter [Swordsman], 0/Zero, and 0²/Zerotwo.
Part of the problem is that Masahiro Sakurai doesn't like to use them, mainly because they weren't even in the games he made, and so generally his stories focus on other enemies, like Dedede, Meta Knight or Nightmare. Because Kirby Super Star was a blockbuster, that adds to a lack of knowledge and what-not.
Anyway so the reason this is stupid is because the Dark Matters hate happiness, friendship, and all that Care Bears stuff, because they're embodiments of darkness, and even the 'nicest' one ever, Gooey, may've been eaten by Kirby and turned into a nutzoid. They don't even really have genders because they breed via sprouting out of a giant eyeball that was later revived and started sprouting wings, a halo, and a tail. And both times fought via crying blood at Kirby.
