i've only played the original trilogy, and i tend to recommend it to my pals 'cause it is very good. it's more of a point and click style game than a pure vn, and it tends to really keep you on your toes to pay attention to details, so it's not as boring as you might think.
honestly, as much as we like to rag on people posted in this thread for ruining a fandom per se, in the long run i can just point and laugh at retards and move on with my life, consuming media i actually enjoy unlike these faggots (and to point and laugh at other retards, duh).

One might think that they will dance around asian natives of Russia (Nivkh, Evenk, Khanti, Buryat and many else) who were also legitimately oppressed, (and Lana looks like she's one of them) but nooo, we are "too white" for them. Ugh.

I feel there's not much mystery about it. Cute art, good character designs, simple but engaging gameplay, low barrier of entry and frequent updates to keep the people's interest. Personally, it's the perfect kind of game to occupy your hands with while listening to lectures or poctasts. But, due to it being free and colourful, the majority of players are obviously childern/teens. And you can see just what kind of fan base they create by looking through some of these screenshots. (There are occasional events where players can vote for their favourite cookie/costume and leave a short comment for each choice, and I think that the pictures portray more than my words ever could)

That's the entire reason why I cringe at the cookie run playerbase at this point. Of course some people at least are writing nice and funny comments. I doubt Koreans [Cookie run's biggest playerbase] are even into whole sexuality/gender fight, like English playerbase is. Even on goddamn wiki they have put warnings to not fight for cookie's gender/sexuality in the goddamn comments. You know that now reminded me that someone flipped their shit on my friend because they used Korean version of the game to depict cookie's gender rather than the wacky Eng one [it was Sorbet Shark Cookie]. I'm also sad that some of the good quality art has always the comment that says "hurr durr make them correct color". just like one of the users said here, the company doesn't care how you draw them, as long as it's not inappropriate, which means you're free to make them black, white, hell even rainbow colored if you wish! if you gatekeep this just because of your wokeness, you're not any kind of good "savior" to the company or the game.

Literally the only thing they give as proof that none of the cookies are 'white' is a translated interview where the devs say that there is diversity among the cookies. But to the fandom diversity = no white people, only darker skintones so...
