Let's take a look at some of the artist I found funny. If there's something nice, I'll point it out too. Here's Virgin Chains.
I can't say much since I'm not a chainmail fan, but the raspberries one looks cheap. Also lol at the gay nudes on this they/them woman's shop to advertise.

Ben has some good potential in her art. I really like the last one, it's a good linocut, and she can do some good design with the "Gay!" placement and the color theory.
The Gay Oddities (they're all female Enbies as far as I can tell).
They're fond of slogan cross stich.

God these are lumpy.
I like the last one and the skateboards one, she's not devoid of talent, she'd just do better as a general kitsch artist rather than a political kitsch artist. She needs much more practice with pottery though.
And the DJ from last time is returning, Nikki.oh with a private instagram profile:

And here are some bonus images from last August when it first started.
So far, it seems almost all the artist signed up in the featured post are white and Female to Nonbinary/he hims, which is hilarious. Transmisogny and misognynoir at the highest order!

The first one is ok, the eyes are too far apart and her boobs are a wonky mass but it's acceptable.
The second looks like she hit her face against a bunch of tree branches and now she's lumpy as hell but it's less SJW and more bad abstraction and trying to make unique faces but failing. I'm going back to the old stand by where I'm ok with the top row, but laugh uncontrollably at the bottom of the Sephiroths:
They're blackwashes, but they're not like a historical reproduction of a period in 17th century France where it would be silly or Persephone being a power lesbian who got kidnapped but not really from her mom by her gay genderbent lover Lady Hades and Demeter is portrayed as ultra homophobe who learns or some shit, where the art ventures into political statements that become comical.
Persephone wasn't going to be black, but wearing a flowy dress and attempting prettiness is pretty decent. Making Persephone wear a "BLACK LIVES MATTER" shirt or have her be comically close to Early 1900s blackface characters (where the artist tried to make ugly pretty but made her a stereotype instead lol) would be more of the spirit of the thread.
Now, if either of those artists get into an autistic slapfight over REEEEEE SHE MUST BE BLACK then YES that's prime thread material. That's always funny.

Say what you will about the faces (I don't mind them except for the eyes in the first one), but at this point anything that isn't just a lazy race-swap sketch is worthy of a damn medal. The Seasons one even understands that dark skin can have different undertones to match the color palette of the rest of the design, a concept lost on 90% of people doing "black edits".

Yeah, I'm aware of the webcomic. It has some interesting ideas, like the gods living in a modern setting but the humans are still in a Hellenistic setting.
It's extremely generic and the author knows very well who her target demographic is.

I've always liked the idea that the mythological reason is that there was so much bullshit going on with the other gods that he didn't want to get involved any more than he had to. I know that's not the case but it's funnier that way.

If I'm not mistaken, rape was synonymous for abduction until around the 1700s in the English language. I couldn't tell you about other languages, but most accounts in English I've read doesn't have implied consummation until post chariot ride if that makes it any better.

I've never read the Persephone myth in the actual Greek, and I doubt my one semester of Ancient Greek would assist me of making heads or tails of it, but:
1) Remember, we're collecting multiple different versions of these myths that were all authored over a span of hundreds, if not a thousand years. Different authors had different interpretations of the gods.
2) The myths were originally transcribed as poetic verse, meaning the narrative scholars are working with is deliberately vague and layered with metaphor.
So, as much as it sounds like a cop out, the answer to "Did Hades rape Persephone in the chariot?" is unfortunately "Depends on who you read."
