Yeah Osomatsu is big on tumblr (alongside other sites). It kinda surprises me it's big on tumblr considering it's really the opposite of what tumblr likes- it doesn't have "visible" dark skin POCs, nor "strong" female characters, nor "queer" relationships...It's also not "deconstructive" or dark/edgy as the tumblrettes like their narratives to be (Steven Universe, Star Wars Force Awakens, Adventure Time). Why are they all obsessed with it?

Because the sextuplets are a bunch of NEETs who think too highly of themselves and are six men who are genuinely selfish and awful to the point of absurdity, and none of them do anything to better themselves throughout the whole series. It's like they're watching a show about themselves, and they like that.

Then it's kinda weird to take into account how the SJW side of the fandom goes, since they loath incest and will go on obsessing over putting the brothers in ships with side characters. They've gone this autistic with it they ship the characters with unimportant side characters in a poly relationship just to avoid incest (apparently you can't just like a character and keep him single or like a series without shipping, goodness no).

I talked this with a friend and we came to the idea that it's because they're trying to mix two different thoughts into one being: yaoi fangirlism + SJW radleft. Yaoi fangirls just want to see their husbandos off in some gay orgy, but the sjws always attack the fangirls for anything they deem problematic (they're misogynistic, they fetishize gays, etc etc...). And since they want to seem to others to be "good" people, they've tried combining the two thoughts so they can have their cake and eat it too.

Therefore, they can still have their husbando yaois, but know they come in special flavors like fat lesbians, ugly gays, poly relationships, or suddenly asexual/racebended/autistic/trans headcanons. That way the fan seems smart and totally progressive, so they can get those asspats they sooo desire and not backlash from their horny urges.

It makes sense in a way. Notice how both teams don't ship het pairings either, even after they've "fused" like in the Osomatsu mess. Fangirls always disliked het couples due to disliking the female character getting in the way of their otp or "uhh het is boring lol!" and SJWs dislike them due to being "misogynistic and heteronormative", and that's normal BAD.

Similar to the whole Booker and Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite deal. Some (if you believe the tales) shipped the two before seeing the big reveal, and went into "OH SHIT BAD IDEA" mode afterwards. Others . . . kept at it. This same group has some I'm sure that would say they hate incest, yet this is a thing they are a part of.

Yeah, my experience is limited but despite their obsession and lewd drawings furries just in general stay in their spot of the fandom and don't go around harassing others and insisting their shitty drawings are better than canon. they're kinda calm compared to other Internet cultures.
