To be completely fair, the design by itself is perfectly fine. I like that design by itself, but not what I think off when I think of Samus. All the pouches and bags undermine the fact that she is a very versatile fighter, and a gymnast. Not a tank.

How is this logical? The Zero Suit was made to go under her armor. If the "redesign" were under her armor she'd have all kinds of mobility issues. I love the other suit on its own, too, but not as an alternative. The Zero Suit is a lot more believable and logical compared to her older outfits that wouldn't be as protective against wearing her armor.

I think this is the most grating part of this redesign movement. There's some nice artwork popping up that could either pass as nice OCs or an interesting AU. But they miss the entire point of the character when doing the redesigns and get too focused on the politics.

i can understand thinking her suit is bad and needs this "fix" if your only idea of any kind of fighter is a solider or warrior who needs lots of heavy protection, but thats not the only kind of fighter there is

Honestly the redesign has more of a Fallout feel to it than a Metroid feel. I've never played a Metroid game but even I know that Samus's thing is speed and efficiency with her pew pew gun, as well as getting into tight spaces. This redesign is lacking in both of those things.

Far as the zero suit went, it was put in a remake where the zero suit section was pretty much outrunning enemies you could of easily pulverized in the power suit. The redesign may look more protective but when you go against the space pirates who shoot lasers out of their claws, the redesign may as well just be as protective as the zero suit. All it really does accomplish is just looking more in place with Fallout than Metroid.

The second suit looks really cool if you are doing another sci-fi thing. Samus has always been sexy, one of the ending in the first game was her in a bikini. Stuff like her being a 6 foot 2 shit house was an American Nintendo power thing.

If she didn't have the power suit, the redesign would be alright for a survivalist game (like Fallout, as others have mentioned). But since she does have the power suit in every Metroid game, the redesign would be impractical for fitting inside the armor or trying to sneak past enemies like in Zero Mission.

It's not the worst redesign that I've seen, it just doesn't fit in with the Metroid series or Samus in general.
