This shows a disturbing disconnect from reality. There is no canon in real life, there is reality and not reality.

Where did this trend of keeping the sketch layer on with quite a high or even full opacity come from? I've been seeing it a lot more often on Tumblr now. It makes it a nightmare to decipher where the sketch layer ends and where the 'finalized' line art starts. It makes the whole drawing a mess you can't decipher, and then the artist has the audacity to beg for notes and reblog it three times within a day. This is the kind of practice that only holds you back when it comes to artistic development

Same person thought Link from Rhett and Link would be improved if he had no legs, so I feel like this person either has no capacity for self reflection is just running a very long gag.

It's laziness and fear pure and simple. Why put effort into improving your lineart when you can just do nothing and claim it's "muh style"? Why improve when you can throw a bitch fit on your account and claim the "haters" are out to get you? It makes more sense to these guys to stay in their bubble then to attempt actually improving anything.

I want to like this so many times. I think the fact that these people have to mold already existing characters to fit their desires is so incredibly disrespectful to the creators who make their own work. It proves that you don't really care about actual change, but that you just want brownie points. So you made a black character from a Japanese character? So what? What changed to help anything. When are these people going to learn that your simple racebend doesn't solve ANY of the major issues that the media has regarding ANY representation?

It's one thing to make a character for yourself. It's another to try to FORCE people to like it. Which people on tumblr do way too much of.

Even by political agenda webcomic standards this one is awful, there is no punchline or message in this and i can't tell who are we supposed to "side with". It's literally:

Toothpaste: Asexuals are lgbt.
