Sad that these are so close to being good. The one on the right in particular I think is a good depiction of a Japanese guy who isn't an uwu anime yaoi boy (think of someone like Daimaou Kosaka, the guy who made that PPAP song)

I found it funny that they hate straight people despite the fact they are most likely to work that this types of people. It is easy way to quit your job.

I thought the arm on the left was a breast at first. Then I realized that arm is shorter and flat because they should be space like original one. Heck, I even did the pose to see I was bullshit myself.

In Real Life, a fat Nozomi would be at serious risk of being kicked out of the Myuzu group or end up forced to lose the chub no matter what if she wants to stay in. Someone has no idea of how Japanese society as a whole is obsessed with weight loss, and how that's even worse for girls and young women who are in the idol industry and need to look cute and slim to appeal to the crowds. Plus, uh, these girls need to stay athletic and fit to be able to dance in their shows, so if they put on weight they wouldn't be able to cope with the physical demands of idol life either.

Realistically speaking, then, if any of the Love Live! girls ever ballooned up, they would be TOTALLY SCREWED and may even lose their careers if they couldn't or wouldn't slim down. So much for the artist claiming to be "realistic" and showing off how ignorant and Western-minded they are, lol.

tomatomagica had been this forum a couple of times and I remember she racebend 80s(I think it was) anime. I'm not surprised if that happened. Generally I do prefer her 2013-14 style more.

People like her goes to Tumblr more often and have that mindset, tell us what "realistic" or not. Realistic varies from person to person especially in culture.

Why does Tearzah make her images look so low quality it hurts my eyes. The tumblr nose in this is especially bad even for Tearzah's standards.

Another case of these people in their attempt to be super progressive completely missing the point. If they knew anything about the culture, they would know NOT to do shit like this. Also, isn't it a pretty insulting thing to force Western ideas of progressiveness in a place were it would completely NOT apply? Yeah, I think diet culture definitely has its shortcomings and I do believe people can be waaayy too obsessed with other people's lives, but at the same time, going head-on into the opposite direction seems just as unproductive.

IIRC the artist had some issues with their publisher, pressure from fans and then they just sort of disappeared and they’re now working on another comic. It’s kind of a shame because while pretty Tumblr pleasing it was still nothing outright offensive like the tropes in this thread. HiNaBN was pretty average as far as web comics go but it was still a breath of fresh air and had some good build up to expand on.
I’m almost glad it ended so abruptly though. If it had started during peak Tumblr we’d be seeing art of gay trans boy Hanna and Asian caricature Zombie.

The ones of the carapaces aren't too bad, all the flags are obnoxious but at least the style is cute. Though, they're the easier characters to draw, so I dunno if that's saying much.
