Okay, I have to admit making your own fanfic because you didn't like an ending to a story or making an AU is not automatically a bad thing. It's better to do something productive than actually go and attack creators, but this is garbage.

Not only would it never get off the ground, if it did it's probably like 99% of other kickstarters trying to scam you out of your money. And all for what? A yaoi sex scene that would never add anything to the story? That would just validate that these people are fetishists?

TBH I can see why people are upset, the writers did unintentionally hype up the gay character in interviews as being something greater than it is. So I'd be a little upset that when I watched the show that the character they hyped up died in a couple of minutes with little to no impact in the story. Maybe it was just the production getting in the way and that was all they could do for "representation". I dunno.

However, at this point people should realize that the show is only going to disappoint you here. If you weren't happy with what you got either make your own fanfic and leave the creators alone or find something else. I remember a time when people who were unhappy with something just created a fanfic ending for fun. It was cheesy but you could tell they loved the franchise and that despite not getting what they wanted, they wanted to enjoy it. And writing or drawing was how they did it.

Now? It's not about loving what you got and feeling a bit unsatisfied. It's about warping the creators perception of their work by threatening them because you can. It's because you get a sense of power off of destroying a creator's work for a petty "ship".

It's not about "representation". It's about making yourself feel better by bullying someone to do what you want.

That's one of the more ironic side effects of an increasingly open global connection: fans have greater access to creators in ways that would make previous generations hard out of jealousy. On the one hand, it allows for a plethora of discussion and allows creators to see what the audience desires in real time and, for better or worse, with a level of honesty one can readily generate with anonymity.

On the other hand, fans can thus develop an exceedingly myopic understanding of the world around them, believing that everyone and everything is exactly like how they and their group of similar-thinking friends are. Without regular contact with the outside world to deter such notions (especially when coupled with narcissism and autism), you get bullies who think they understand what's going on and can dictate how a show should go. They get a power trip out of finally being able to voice their opinion to the masses and the creators, thinking all the while it is exactly what the show needs.

Yeah, but that's not even the half of it. As is often true with SJW Tumblr based art and ideas, they made this whole thing even more nonsensical than simply leakira. Here's this post that explains some more in depth on a few topics on the "reboot", but this just mostly summarizes this flaming trash (with sources!) If there are anymore questions, I'll try to give some info and/or links.

I saw that the main contention with the season was the show staff hyping up that Shiro was a gay character who had a male ex, Adam, only to show Adam died off screen. After that, Tumblr and Twitter had egg on its face for being excited and making so many posts about how important it is that Shiro was a gay character...even though he's still alive, so the show staff didn't really bury all the gays.

And somehow Klance is involved. I assume because they thought Adam and Shiro would get together again and Shiro would be confirmed out of the way of Klance.

Basically. The same people who hyped themselves up for Shadam/Adashi (Shiro and Adam) are also mostly Klancers (and many are antis too, for that matter). Really, one of the only reasons Klantis got involved was that if Shadam happened, it would "kill" their longtime rival in a one-sided ship war, Sheith. That's what this has always been, and always will be: about dumb ships some dumb kids think matter more than anything else in the world. So yeah, you're totally right I guess, haha.
