I just found another 13 year old artist on DA that has picked on that Sleepykinq trend and gained fame for that. Even if her art is completely shitty and drawn without any effort, she gets a lot of favorites and comments; for example:

The Birdie girl's art style reminds me of that shitty eyeburning kidcore style everyone has.

Her artstyle used to be tolerable last year, but I think Sleepyking influenced her art (as well as many other people's art) by using various shapes to express a character's personality or something. So now all these people went from that generic 2008 deviantart style to artstyles that have all their characters looking like Doritos.

She's pretty well known on the animation community on YouTube too. She drew porn of her oc (who was 13) and had an unhealthy obsession with sleepykings oc. She also was just an overall asshole. The drama went around like last year-ish

Almost 700,000 pageviews and hundreds of favorites, and they have an art style that looks like color and shape theory were in a fatal car crash together on the canvas. Somehow it doesn’t surprise me.

So when you guys were talking about birdie, there's this Kittydog that's somehow famous for her animations, and once she got to the front page with not that good of an artpiece, and I just commented "How did this get to the front page?", nobody replied and then another one asked that same question, and then people were batshit about it and like always, they say that how "why is everybody saying that?" even though there was only 2- 3 comments about that same question and everything else was this white knighting and stuff..
I wasn't trying to be mean, but It's just a little weird? That she doesn't take art seriously or I don't know..?
