I did notice that while rewatching Moomin on YouTube recently, a lot of people in the comments only really seem to care about Snufkin and Moomin being gay more than about what goes on in the actual show. I honestly see Snufkin and Moomin more as friends rather than “GAY LOVERS UWU”. After all, they’re children.

they know the whites of your eyes are, white, right? Even several of our own artcows (like Tearzah) are doing this. It just makes them look dead and lifeless.

It reminds me of the joke of adding literal realistic eyes to a character (ex. the Annoying Orange. It was the only example I could think of. Sorry), but this is taken too seriously

i can agree the eyes should probably be lighter, but given the palette of the drawing, i think pure white would create too much contrast. not even their (presumably) white shirts are that bright, so going with a softer/off-white color works better.

sometimes as an artist you need to pick between what's closer to reality and what looks better with the rest of the piece. whether or not you think the rest of the drawing looks good is another matter entirely.

Tbf the Don't Starve characters have gray shading and/or heavy lines around their eyes in most of the Canon designs, just not as bad as Tumblr would have you believe.

Also monster prom the most Tumblr-esque game I've ever seen, all the art in the game alone has that tumblr/sjw style to it. The only thing i like in this game is that robot voiced by jacksepticeye.

As for Monster Prom, the base game isn't that much SJW but they kind of ramped it up with the expansion. The reason for that Chuthlu girl with transflag because she is trans according to this https://twitter.com/monsterprom/status/1005571324612358144 .

Edit: The game still has some cringy parts nonetheless.
