Mind you, I’ve seen a few people with the thing on the top right at my job (I see a lot of people come and go). However, it hasnever been on their head. While I’m sure it is for some people, it’s not common and unless the character was designed that way, don’t do it. One of the main reasons you shouldn’t do it is because it makes every dark detail blend with the other dark colors because of the contrast.View attachment 811517 A simple but Useful guide I threw together
With the lighter but still dark one, I’m not even sure if I’d call it off model. It’s just a slightly lighter tone, and I expect a lot of people to draw that way because many use dark outlines for features, and these facial features are more visible with slightly lighter skin. It also depends on the lighting.
Regardless, this is honestly a great how-to and guide to this shit and it’s astounding that people don’t seem to get it.
