For a second I thought she looked like Belle Delphine.
There's something about the Tumblr style that just shows some AOr red flags, even when they're not butt-ugly. And no, I'm not talking about the diversity and pride flags, it's how they draw faces and bodies that don't look right. I speculate it's either because they can't see and distinguish facial features very well (autism) or that's how they genuinely see people. Do any of you know what I mean?
I believe most Tumblr people like to draw other characters androgynous because most of these artists try to present themselves as androgynous as they can be. It's more of a "I look like this, have this body built so I should draw my favorite characters this way" than not knowing how to draw people in my opinion (and if this is the case they are kind of narcissists/self-obsessed lol). Also they really like to amplify the ugliness of a person, kinda like a bad caricaturist. While a caricaturist amplify someones ugliness as a joke, they take it seriously 'cause of the "nobody is perfect" (no pun intended) sentiment but they don't realize that if they were to draw a real person in this style they wouldn't take the "seriously taken, amlified ugliness for self love" art as a compliment but rather as an insult.

Well, they are trying to gain attention because of "how great I am" so them being a narcissist isn't far-fetched at all. I doview these type of people as self-centred and attention-hungry because when they draw a character with some form of abnormality, it stands out in the vast ocean of art so curious viewers will look at it. They just throw in the faux progressive messages just to make them look to people passing by.
Another thing I thought of is that normally, people make idealised versions characters such as women with super curves and big breats that defy grafity, muscular guys with triangular body shapes, dogs with expressive faces and human-like aliens. These artists instead draw what they see and don't improve anything or make it worst on purpose for horror effects (intentional or not). Not saying they look realistic or closer to real life because they don't look human enough. It's kind of hard to describe but in a way, their faces look (for lack of better word) twisted. They can be smiling but the smile doesn't look friendly or sincere. If I saw them IRL, I would not want to approach them because they look so unfriendly. Doesn't help when they draw characters grinning and draw as much detail as possible, including sharp canines.

Why would you ever learn character design and what makes a drawn character appealing when you could just draw unskilled garbage and tell your haters that they're bad people because you like totally meant to draw them that way, for representation, you bigot?
As long as some people eat up their art and style the opinion of the "haters" means little to nothing to them.
Also you would be surprised how many of the people whose art is here are also studying in art schools and colleges (or at least wants to go to one). There are probably some artist featured here who knows what makes a good desing but they just don't care 'cause "it's my style, I like it and if you don't like it, then you are wrong" or they are just experimenting to see what the masses like. And if the people like the bad design more than the better ones, they'll go with the bad ones.

Personally I think it's because they're so dead set on being "diverse" so you get porn of fat, hairy, disabled tranny midgets or whatever passes for woke these days. And unless you're a complete porn sick degenerate you won't find any of that remotely sexy.
I doubt a lot of porn that's made for this crowd of people is actually appealing to them but they consume it anyways lest they be labeled xyz-phobic.
