Glasses, goatee, green eyes.

Ignore the deadlocks, the crossdressing and the... how many shades did they have to darken pasty white Freeman to get there? Five? Eight?

Yeah, I guess for a lot of people "speaks Spanish" means "Mexican".

I studied in a public school, but looks like I need to check my I-was-curious-enough-about-the-world-around-me-to-read-a-damn-book-when-I-was-a-kid privilege for knowing these things.
You and me both. It's sad it's come to this now. I blame Donavan Freberg for making me what I am!

Seriously? Seriously? Drawing the woman who attacks by legs and has wide hips with a male bodybuilder build, and drawing the actual buff guy with a skinny female build? Are you fucking with me?
I think those are the characters kids for the show.
download.jpgI mean, the official designs are shit too, so I guess they got that part right.

See, for me what made those characters identifiable was their hair. The colours and styles help with recognising at a quick glance, helped by the outfits. Surely there is a better way to do this that doesn't just give them all pretty much the same hair, but in different lengths.

The annoying thing is that their hair was part of their character. Bubbles' hair is puffy and cutesy 'cause she's the girly one, Buttercup is boyish and rash so her hair is short, and Blossom's hair represents a flowing cape because she's heroic and the team leader. The Powerpuff Girls' designs are deceptively simple looking, but every part of their design is to illustrate who they are.

Even Bliss in the reboot has some symbolism in her hair; her bangs are supposed to resemble the bangs of all three girls put together, in a meta sense because she was made after the original trio and takes inspiration from them. I don't like the reboot but even that crap had something half-decent.

If they really wanted to make a black puff, they'd have to at least give it more forethought than random lumps of hair. Blossom could have straight hair, Bubbles has puffs, and Buttercup could have braids that stick off the side of her head like her original hair did, at least then there'd be an effort to stick to original ideas.

OR, better idea; MAKE YOUR OWN OCs, so you don't have to stick to symbolism that was designed for a specific reason. :\

Lol! J.K Rowling won some points for me and I'm enjoying the chimp out as a result. She must be black-washed cuz she's my nigga.

And there's no need to purposefully misspell Rowling's name cos Instagram doesn't use non-hash tag words as keywords...unless they're doing it for symbolic reasons.
JK rowling is now voldemort, no one can say her name without an american tranny slitting their wrists because a rich woman in Britain who writes books for children doesn't like MTF trannies.

This still isn't great but dam do they look better with actual hands rather than those balls. I tried watching this show but couldn't get used to art style. Kinda interesting to see that I actually don't hate the basic character design like this but do hate them in the actual show. I think it's alot because the backgrounds. Say what you want about simple and inconsistent characters in Adventure Time but the backgrounds in that show are very nice, often creative with gorgeous colors. Those visually carry alot of the show and make over all more fun to watch. OK KO other hand the characters blend into it and not in good way. It's oversaturad mess of inconsistent limps and conceptually boring environments like a basic grocery store.

I heard somewhere that IJQ made the characters/style REALLY simple in OK KO so that kids who liked the show could draw the characters more easily. It's a sweet thought, at least. (Not a fan of the style either, I just never got into OK KO.)

Ok, what the hell did she even say?
Long story short, she dared to say that while she supports transgender people, there are differences between women and transwomen.

And then she dared not to back down when cancel culture came after her.

And then she doubled-down and wrote a very reasonable essay on the whole subject.

So, in short, she turned into Turbo-Satan.

I don't think keeping charaters simple is the issue. Issue with OK KO is stylization, especially characters vs. backgrounds. The original Powerpuff Girls, also a comedy action cartoon for kids, holds up really well and those girls are super easy to draw. In PPG everything is made so that the girls stand out and action is easy to read. The girls are made from curves and circles, where as other characters are very pointy with few to none circles. Only the characters and important items have black out outlines, everything that is meant to be just background is in solid colors or have softer contrast with colored lines. Character have stronger, more saturated and higher contrasting colors than the backgrounds.

...that's it? I thought that with the reaction Tumblr was having she was nailing trans men and women on crosses and burning them while laughing maniacally.

Who talks like this irl? :story:
Also lol at "Hermoine"

I thought this was another weird Mccree at first glance.

Anyway, here's some art to celebrate pride.
