Look how they massacred Tohru and Kyo.
Tohru is darker than she should be and Kyo looks like an old man.
Aside from the blackwashing and shitty colouring (clean your damn lineart!), this one isn't that bad. I tried fixing it myself. I didn't know how to make Kyo look less like an old man, so I tried redoing his face.

Much better to me! I wish they learned to follow this path.

Speaking of blackwashing...

It honestly bothers me more when they blackwash a character but keep all the white features (straight hair, blue eyes, skinny nose and lips, etc.) At least try to act like you care.
It's either "white person colored black" or "mammy caricature". There's very few times where a black person actually looks like what they are irl in sjw art.

Please tell me that's just sweat dripping on their body and not deformed nipples.

It's sweat, they're just bad at drawing sweat.

The sweat looks less like sweat and more like pimples or abrasions. I think it's mostly because sweat on the body appears as a slimey substance to most people. However, on skin, it would be almost-water like. Transparent. You would use thin lines to show the separation between the body and what is actually consider the "sweat".

The main issue here is that because of the lack of line variations instead of it looking like a normal person sweating, the character looks akin to have some sort of skin condition. It really doesn't fit what artist was going for (fire = hot = sweaty/melting feeling).

I stressed this many posts ago, but a lot of these artists have a fundamental lack of the understanding basics. Which is so odd considering how many tutorials tumblr has on this (decent ones at the very least). I guess the mentality of "don't critique my work despite it being on an open platform in which everyone can see it" triumphs all. The amount of people who have that mentality on an OPEN platform is crazy. Private account? You do you. But once it's public, everyone gets to see it and comment.
