Animals with trans chest scars are always weird, considering nearly every mammal on the planet doesn't even have visible breasts to begin with (unless pregnant/nursing). The top one doesn't even have them in the right place, I don't think so anyway, they look too high up.

99% sure the black part of his face is a cartoon version of stylized shade or a mask, on cutscenes the part is rendered as a fabric texture instead of skin.

Yeah, Lance made Balan, then Lance gets corrupted, Balan goes to save then gets corrupted/turns to Lance while a new Balan is made- and that info is from the book. Endless cycle of balance, like their namesake.

While I do know on game the story and the gameplay sucks, there's really no excuse when the game shows it right to your face on how alike they are and the book straight up says so on the very first pages in case you still somehow didn't get it.

Like god damn, what causes people to not understand visual cues? On sight alone, you could still come close with "They're so similar, are they brothers?" then remember on what events transpired and it clicks. "One of them is corrupted!" or something. But nope, they have to be focused on how some godlike humanoid being under a stylized disguise is 'white'.
And also ignoring the theme of why white is used in the way its always used in media for symbolism: white for purity, black for corruption.

The designs in Balan Wonderworld look nice, honestly. Gives me NiGHTS vibes. Bit unfortunate the game isn't all too great from what I've heard and seen... also unfortunate that SocJus Twitter went apeshit when Balan was revealed to be a pale prettyboy.
