This artist (if it's just one, since it's sometimes difficult to tell with those kind of people) seems either to be unable to draw a proper female figure or has it listed as a trigger since female curves are sexist. My bets on the later, which informs the former.

While I think that them just making Mary black for their "redesign" is absolutely braindead I don't understand your reasoning here? I mean... there are black child stars and black baby dolls. I guess she could be based on a certain child actor who was white which would make redesigning her to be black even more confusing, but I don't know anything about Batman either.

I suppose you could portray her as black, but I think she is meant to replicate the popular cute child stars of the 40s/50s, like Shirley Temple, who were always white (blacks weren't allowed to act much back then, and certainly not as the main character). Her design is very much like that time period, with the blonde curls and cute dresses, along with a personality bordering on 'brat, but gets away with it using her cuteness/crying'.

Other than the unnecessary pride shit, I kind of really like Two-face here. That suit is killer. But couldn't a black version of Baby Doll be based on like...Gary Coleman from Diff'rent Strokes or something, instead of Shirley Temple? Or at least have more visually distinct curls if you're just gonna recolor the damn thing?
