I inquired for you, and I was told that the county hasn't sent the bill yet so the exact amount was not known. Thanks to your helpful link, a check will be written and dropped off at the county office in a couple days.

This is the third delinquency according to my records, of course your county tax assessor might be incompetent. Might want to keep them on top of that considering your parents yearly gross income can't afford the penalty amount attached to the delinquency tax.
Also I find it interesting that you inquired so fast for two reasons:
A. The tax assessor's office closes at 5pm, and it's currently close to 6:30 your time.
B. Even if you had called, that shit takes at least 30 minutes to get you to the right person.

Fairly certain he probably knew this already since he's lying about calling the tax assessor.
Typically after the third delinquency they post something on the door. Idk how it goes with Lews & Clark Co. but that's how it goes with most counties in his region.

Maybe that website isn't totally accurate about what constitutes delinquency, seeing as the county hasn't yet sent out the standard postcards telling people what they owe for 2017.
