Skyrim: NPC challenge

  • 🔧 Actively working on site again.
Basically, once you get past all the eye candy and praise, Skyrim is dull and isn't really that good of a game

Skyrim is in no way a TERRIBLE game but compared to say, Oblivion, it's mechanics look weak and lacklustre. It draws you into the realm of the Nords well enough and for those familiar with Norse mythology it's a treat to see the parallels being made.

Alright, I'm going to try it. Probably playing a Nord since they're the new Imperials in terms of vanilla.

I expect a full report on my desk at the end of the day

speaking of Skyrim, I have been trying to develope a language for the nords, which from what I concluded is like glorified anglo saxon with some mixture of other scandinavian languages.
The dragon language in Skyrim was designed so that the main theme to the game would still rhyme with itself in both English and it's dragon rendition.

Can we choose races freely, or it has to be a Nord? I was thinking about playing as a Redguard or Argonian female trying to live life, even with the hardships that the Nord patriarchy forces against her. DIE NORD SCUM.

Alright. Two in game days in.

We got stuck in a mountain.

We fell off a mountain.

After escaping Helgen I abandoned Hadvar and took the scenic route to Riverwood.

I sold my Imperial Armor and Iron sword off for some spare gold at the trader.

Then I took a nice walk to Whiterun. Managed to avoid any combat and had a nice peaceful stroll.

Once I got to Whiterun I took a carriage to Riften. Took all night so presumably I slept in the carriage.

Had breakfast in the Bee and Barb and the bartender was a douche to me.

Agreed to play courier for Bolli. I'll catch a carriage to Markarth later though.

Prayed at the shrine of Talos for an hour then went back home to have lunch. Took one hour to eat.

Bought some respectable clothes and gave Wujeeta a healing potion. She gave me a ring which I put on.

Chatted this guy up for an hour then went to read a book which took another hour.

Then I had Joe go home and sleep for 12 hours.

Good god I feel like I did Screaming Llama's shitty Morrowind Let's play.

here's my progress so far

Nordic sprang from the earlier Nedic language and Draconic, and was the largest source for Cyrodilic which is the 'Galactic Standard' for TES. If you wanted to build upon the Nord language it'd probably be useful to go through Cyrodilic stuff as well.

Skyrim cannot handle such ordinary and mundane lifestyle that you have, exball. That is why the game broke on you.

It may have not been fun for you but I just lol'd so hard. You should go on a scenic vacation to Falkreath.

There are traces of dragonic language in the nordic tounge (dovah being the most obvious examples, but other words like "Fus, Th'uum, krii and okriim can be examples) I'll look more onto Nedic.
I already plan to work on Cyrodilic once I'm done with Nordic,
now concerning Cyrodilic, I see that there are two dialects:
modern and classic.
Classic is the dialiect spoken in the third era and before. has many allusions to latin.
Modern dialect is the dialect spoken in Skyrim, this dialect is has lost almost all traces of Latin and has also been mixed with other languages of Tamriel. It will sound like Italian and Pig Latin.

After Cyrodilic, I might work on Breton, Yokudish (red guards) and possibly the tounge of mer.
here what I plan to base the languages off of:
Breton- Breton dialect(obvious) Welsh and English
Yokudish- Arabic
elven languages in general: Tolkein's Elf language.
Altmerian dialect: Chinese (can't decide which dialect to use)
Bosmerian dialect: Nahuatl, possibly mix in some of vietnamese.
Dunmer dialect: Hebrew
Orc tounge: due to their status of opression until the third era, they long forgotten most of their language and is the bastard child of Elvish, mongolian, Breton dialect and Nordic dialect.

the hardest part is to make up grammatical rules and how to conjunct words.

If you decide to cover Ta'agra you should base it off of Romanian

Seems appropriate

I used the random start mod. It landed me in front of a sabertooth tiger.

I may try this.

Well if you ever get a good start I'd like to hear about it, these mundane playthroughs are fun to hear about. Mostly because the experience always seems way different than anything else.

Well, first the sabertooth that mauled me. Then I landed in the middle of a keep surrounded by bandits and they murdered me as well. Third time was a charm and only landed near a Necromancer and one pissed off wolf. Started north west of Falkearth.
