@Stoned Tablet had jaw surgery when he was younger. He noticed people around him respected him more and that he was able to get in a relationship with a girl who rejected him previously.

This anecdotal experience he has justifies him feeling like looks might matter to some people, but that does not allow him to generalize what all people see as standards of physical beauty. Furthermore, personal experience is not enough to use as evidence to support a claim, a hypothesis at the most.
