According to OKC, women rated 80% of men below average in looks,but they messaged 80% of men.
In contrast, men rated 80% of women as attractive, but they messaged only the "modelesque." (That's OKC's terminology.)
So where it counts - in the connection being made, women are far more willing to give the other sex a shot, even if they don't find them initially attractive.

A lot of Loveshys come from Sluthate. The thing is however, that site is made even worse by the toxic environment created by pedophiles, conspiracy theorists, hackers, and mindless people trying to become clones of Chad Thunderdick. As @Saney pointed out, there can be some overlap between these different categories.

The thing with Sluthate is simply this: Nearly everyone that goes to that site is there because they want an easy solution to their love lives and look for a magic surgery or pill that can in essence 'fix' their dating troubles in one fell swoop. Its incredibly biased and fails to address other far more important factors that don't cost a dime.

They try to justify this by claiming that looks are far more important in relationships by saying things like "Looks determine how people see you" or "Appearance is important for first impressions".

The problem with these arguments is not that they're necessarily wrong, but rather they put too much emphasis on improving the way you physically appear and fail to address how the way you approach people and make conversations matters far more.
