I can Imagine with all the work they have put into the show for nearly 6 years. I'd probably feel a bit burnt out too. So, I think it's understandable for them to let it end. At least, we can go out with one last smile.

Hey adult swim execs... Let's gas light our audience. It'll be funny! So, something happened.
I was really hoping for the episode featuring Allan exploring his sexuality by dressing up as a woman for a high school reunion prom night.Man, what a shame they were never forced to bring on a bunch of women writers to turn the show into a boring pile of shit.
It's like they are misery demons. They don't even need to go to hell to live in it.These people are just pathetic....

I think the format makes the whole thing more grueling. A lot of shows suffer from having a gimmick. Having random independent animators/live actors on constantly, basically every episode, esp with things notoriously expensive and time consuming as stop motion, is a gimmick to be sure (though a really awesome one, not all are bad). Unfortunately it can really muck up the pipeline. One of Steven Universe's many sins was that they insisted on having real celebs voice "fusion" characters, characters that were two or more characters combined via anime bullshit (don't even ask). This resulted in extremely awkward scheduling issues and plot holes when the suddenly could fucking get Nikki Minaj to voice lines again for a cartoon before an episode came out (shocking) so things would have to be rewritten. While I haven't seen anything indicating it at all yet, I would assume that working with random independent artists was similarly tricky because you had no idea if they could stick to a deadline because they'd never had an industry job, also there's a chance they'll flake, fail to produce something good, etc. Who knows how much if anything was cut? Who knows how easy all of these moving part were to work with. We do have at least one confirmed minor case of this with the puddle that was supposed to be voiced by chris chan. Consider that on a greater scale. Normally I would scratch my head at how a shorter 10 minute show with a season every other year could possibly be so much effort to produce. But given the format they chose, it was always going to be tough, and really I'm more impressed that it even worked for 3 seasons. They could've done anything, in any medium, with how SF was set up, but you've got nothing left?
I know Zach isn't really a liberal but what about Michael? The theory that I'm currently subscribed to is that they saw the show had amassed a massive unwanted fanbase of redditors and Bluesky users that they despised so they said fuck it.
Yeah at the very least it wouldn't get bad until the end of season 5. I think they had the right idea with 5 seasons and a movie.Personally, I think the show was just hitting its stride and had at least another season or two to go before it would get stale. It ending now feels abrupt and a bit off. Disappointed in this development.
That's right. It was about a certain group of people. We all knew who he was talking about.
Didn't Allan go as a princess to an anime convention? I could kinda see Allan trooning out and I trust that Zach would depict Allan poorly.I was really hoping for the episode featuring Allan exploring his sexuality by dressing up as a woman for a high school reunion prom night.
They fell for the experimentIt wasnt a Jew joke you fucking retards
It's an absolute pipe dream that's pretty much guaranteed to never come to fruition, but I think he and Brad Neely could work up an actually entertaining historical show. Not sure if their humor would blend as well as Zach and Michael's, though.I hope Zach does something history related next, since he is clearly interested in that topic, plus history naturally filters troons
Ok not sure about that but Yaaaay!!I'm gonna fucking shoot myself and make you two watch
Man, as much as I hate that that might be the case, the thought that they could of done that in response is a funny thought. And I do think they would protect the show from being enshitified.Perhaps this is exactly what happened.
*insert a SF-esque skit of Michael and Zack trying to politely refuse hiring some new shitty writers until things get so awkward they just abruptly go "uhhh... actually the show's over" que end credits.*
Or them. They are perhaps the laziest example, despite attempts to seem deeper, the multiverse bs is just a contrived writing technique to let them write any bs. I never liked rick, but they have seriously overgrown between the series and "high on life" gamesRick and Morty is on its ninth season, go watch that lol.
I don't think they could BECOME Rick and Morty, because that show was always reddit slop. It got worse, but I don't think it was ever GOODI don't know, its true that it was probably going to become Rick and Morty but i don't believe they didn't have at least a season or two more in their sleeve. It feels more like laziness and wanting to coast off the merch and royalties just as the show was getting big.
They will regret it and will try to bring it back to make a shitty streaming movie in a few years when its already too late and its not funny.
This crossed my mind too. They do seem the type to do it as a joke, cancel it and then release season 4 without a word . Might just be hopeium thoughHonestly I'm kinda hoping that this is just a troll for the end of the season and that we get two more before a movie and they end it. But in my mind it's 50/50 odds.
I know someone who worked on the latter half of season 3 and I've seen the animatics for both unreleased episodes. They definitely exist.I saw online earlier, we will get two new episodes in April. Better than nothing, and I hope it isn't a rumor.
I don't like how Ian Jones Quarterly is branched off of Adventure Time. He'd been working with Cartoon Network since 2008 (2006?) where he was the animation director on the venture brothers. not to say that it didn't help that he also worked on AT. No idea about any of the others.
a movie annoucementI guess it's better for them to put the series to bed than keep working on something they don't feel like doing. Unless this is a troll and it's explained in the last two episodes.
i remeber seeing that image when charlie kirk died
I honestly believe this might be the case. Everyone online has been saying that the show is on the precipice of becoming a Rick and Morty, Michael and Zach are big Internet people and pretty sure they have jokes about it. That’s one way to stop yourself from becoming the villain, just ending it.They ended the show fearing that a category 5 level szechuan sauce style disaster was on the horizon
No kidding, just look at this now deleted post that Jazzy Oliver made as well. It's like they are misery demons. They don't even need to go to hell to live in it.
