I didn't have the benefit of knowing this thread existed until I spontaneously looked it up a couple of days ago so this is late and gay but I read through the whole thing and it's interesting to see different perspectives and opinions and the autismo part of my brain wants to put all the information into a chart to see the general consensus of episodes. I remember watching and enjoying the pilot but for some reason I never stuck around to watch the rest of S1 until S2 premiered but I'm really glad I did.

It does surprise me how many people who decidedly and consistently dislike this type of humor give SF a pass. Maybe it's a tin-foil hat scenario where people say "you don't like any shows because you hate good things" and they say "nuh uh I like Smiling Friends so". I'm really hoping (not going to be surprised by, but hoping) that if things do change, it'll be for the better or more cohesive for the crew and, by extension, the audience. I think the length of the episodes are fine (maybe include two a block though, like most other 11min cartoons do) and I don't mind the meandering, improvisational tone that more of S2 used and I'm an enjoyer of seeing several different animation styles showcased.

That all being said, I too want to list the S2 episodes because all the cool kids were doing it.

1. Gwimbly
2. Allan Adventure
3. Spamtopia
4. The Halloween one
5. The Aliens one
6. Christmas
7. Brother's Egg
8. Mr. President

And none of the episodes was bad, as others have said. I'm just one of those spergs who thought Jimbly was too consistently gross and made my skin crawl after a while. Allan's my fave but Pim's adorable and while more Glep would be fun, I kinda like that he seems to literally just be there stir shit up / be a dick when the others' shenanigans drag him into them. Glep gives me "teen girl who doesn't wanna be there" energy

I've said it before (maybe even in this thread) that Smiling Friends is the next show that autistic fans will ruin for normies. They did it with Rick and Morty. They did it with My Little Pony. They did it with Steven Universe (which I straight up refuse to watch because of how awful the fans are). Smiling Friends could very easily be the next thing that gets hijacked by an awful fanbase.
Theres a reason why I removed myself from all "fandoms" and communities relating to anything even mildly popular.

They all suck: any actually interesting discussion gets ignored, 90% of any given fan communities are literal lifeless spastic retards who use the fandom as a sense of purpose because they're gay boring losers without any, the majority are literal thoughtless nigger cattle parroting the same dead gay memes 6000 times a day, and theres always a large amount of faggots just there to spread porn. It really fucking says something when my first instict when talking about something I like is to come here rather than the numerous other places these "fandoms" tend to congregate.

They're generally that fucking awful, and being around these fucking cretins long enough will probably make you hate the thing that brought you there in the first place. Like, I really like Undertale as a game, but my word is that hard to admit because of the absolute unhinged cock-chopped freaks that have raped that and Deltarune into the fucking dirt and its hard to even play them thanks to that lingering malignant thought of the vermin who latch on to them.

I hope they bring Mr. Landlord back in a future episode as a ghost haunting Allan's apartment building or something. I'm a big fan of his rapid skittering. I look forward to seeing what random PS2 game he selects next time.

Finding decent fanart feels like winning the lottery because you're constantly wading through a cesspool of wokie SJW fanart depicting the characters as ugly brown genderspecials and the artist projecting onto the characters. And this of course applies to any fandom discussion of any kind. It's all projection, whining about things that are problematic, projection, and LGBTQP+++101 slop.

But my favorite is when people get mad over someone "shipping" a relationship that is cannon, or getting mad when a canonically straight character ends up with someone of the opposite sex.

Someone didn’t catch the after credits scene of that episode.

I’m proud to say that I actually watched the entirety of all the episodes from both seasons, and it’s been said maybe a few plus posts ago on this thread, but I sincerely hope the Rick & Morty fanbase does not ruin the vision of Zach and Michael’s creation.

This was the first time in a long one where a cartoon made me laugh so much that it made me forget that I haven’t watched real good television in almost 3+ years or more. It was genuinely the most creative and random cartoon that works because it understands its characters for who they are and for the sake of being random for appealing to a crowd that posts terminally on Reddit these days.
Also, I want to see more Mr. Frog cutscenes for the third season. If not that, then more interactions between The Boss and Satan.

Did anybody else like season 2 a lot more than season one? I feel like season one had a lot of really cool ideas and concepts but was just okay from a comedic perspective, season 2 was even more creative and actually made me laugh quite a few times though and I'd rank it pretty high as far as adult swim shows go. I'm not sure if I'm just a downer about season one or not.

I did.

Something about S2 held my attention better and I catch myself rewatching more of the episodes from S2 whereas S1 has more vignettes that I found humorous instead of the whole episode.

The pilot from S1 is still in my top three favourite episodes though across both seasons, though. I think it has to do with character allocation. I'm not gonna sperg about it but I think the characters in S2 were more realized and utilized, and none of them really overstayed their welcome - Satan was in one bit and it was hilarious, Mr. Frog was in one plot and it was funny, etc. We got to see different dynamics with the employees of the SF, which is nice too.

I don't have anything against S1, to be clear and I know the general consensus in the thread is that S1 was more cohesive and tight and the episodes felt more appropriate in length but I personally just... like S2 more, I dunno. I'm a simple tard; I like Allan, and S2 has more Allan in it lol

Its better to just enjoy things and not engage in fandoms anymore. Which is the goal behind these glowniggers actions purposely shitting everything up.

Its just annoying as hell to try and talk about some video game and a bunch of spastic retards jump in screeching random buzzwords and pushing whatever is the glownigger political narrative of the day. That’s when they aren’t doomposting about how all is lost and we should lie down and die.

Shitposting has always been a part of the internet but any actual discussion or telling them to fuck off gets banned by retards behind moderation positions in organized glownigger teams that do nothing but dumb down or destroy any online discourse they come across. The death of imageboards as a format is a great example of this.

Can't confirm, that might be Allan before it's Mr. Frog. The - hang on, I have to check my notes - Charpim fandom on Tumblr use Charlie as their projection tool for being a fat, slob transman. I'd give them kudos for the self-awareness but I'm not going to.

By "Tumblr sexyman" rules, Allan fits more of the criteria, though it'd be kinda funny to see them try to sexify Mr. Frog a la Bill Cipher

The only good thing that could come out of the fanbase becoming increasingly gay is that Mr. Frog might become a tumblr sexyman.

Just finally coming out of lurking to say that, while Mr. Frog doesn't, Allan, Charlie and Gwimbly have entries in the Sexypedia (yes, it is a real site and they use a suggestion-into-voting system to have pages made for it).

I'm surprised to see Gwimbly on there but I'm ashamedly not surprised to see Charlie on there given how much the retarded part of the fandom attached themselves onto him.

These people are stupid. Out of all the unfortunate humanizations of characters I've been exposed to, zero of them of Allan have been "white twink". Literally all of them look Indian or black/aboriginal. Also "quotable catchphrases"? The only one of the three with any catchphrase is Gwimbly, for obvious reasons.

...Looking at the website itself seems like an echo chamber nightmare. Thanks, I hate it.

They have SCP RISK RATINGS?

Also, "Distinctive voice", that's a worthless thing to add to a SF character, every single one, even the bit characters, has a distinctive voice, and half of them are Zach.
