I feel like these types of people would have a heart attack if they ever watched anything Zach and Micheal has made on YouTube.

I have no clue why these new fans are trying to turn Smiling Friends into the ”new Rick & Morty”, but not everything has to be R&M rip-off. It makes me wonder if they actually like the show at all, or if they’re trying to subvert into something that it’s not.
Retards who think they're intellectuals have to ruin everything

It might be biden with trumps voice, hopefully that's some kermit clone at the edge. Bringing real life people into it as themselves doesn't seem to be their mojo

Smiling Friends is extremely difficult to subvert, which makes certain people absolutely seethe. It is the product of a very insular, tight-knit old Internet group that is largely tuned out of mainstream Hollywood.

It’s not even a political thing, they just don’t care. Zach and Micheal would probably have a hard as fuck time even telling you the names of many male comedians nowadays, yet they sure as hell know who the likes of Joel Haver are, so he gets in.

I think another reason these types of fans are shoving themselves into this is that it's the only good tv cartoon around that's not rife with community drama and has good reputation with all (american) political sides.
They also can't enjoy a thing without inserting their mental illness to it just like anime coomers can't enjoy a thing without shoving anime girls into it (or making the thing into anime girls)

This is the same bizarre phenomenon as what happened when George/filthy frank/pink guy/joji started mainly focusing on his music. Give it a few years and there will be people on twitter and reddit acting like the other shit Zach did is some kind of crazy unknown thing he needs to get blacklisted over to no avail.
EDIT: Actually probably a year or less given how quickly that happened with the Joji of the filth.

Gwimbly is ugly enough to where I don't think troons and furries can appropriate him, thankfully.
You've had a whole decade of twitter/tumblr artists turning recognizable characters into hideous monstrosities for the sake of "diversity" and "rep" and "coding" and you assume Gwimbly's too ugly for that kinda brainrot? Dude probably already has masectomy scar vitiligo gay sex fan art with how fast the more sane gwimbly fan art came out.

I'm trying to be optimistic. *sigh*
I still have that PTSD when I discovered that weird Bubsy RPGmaker fangame that also tried to be a """sequel""" to Space Funeral.
And in a way Gwimbly is basically a parody of Bubsy.

Reactions: The Lawgiver
I'm sure others have said it, but having an episode all about washed up nostalgia characters and a slimely CEO only in it for the money with "DLCs" and "Microtransactions", all the while the Sweet Baby Inc controvery is going on makes this unintentionally the most topical episode of anything ever and god DAMN is it good.

Honestly I'm surprised with how the sweet baby stuff has been known about since last year they didn't like do something fucking goofy like put a little funny small green baby screaming at a computer for a second in the background. The shitshow about sweet baby is both hilarious and depressing but I also fucking hate how it's become the content outrage commentary channel mill topic to grind into the ground with overhyping.

I may have mentioned it elsewhere but it’s honestly really nice that the general consensus about the show is that it’s really dang good, and it hasn’t led to Rick and Morty-level spergouts and infighting.

I think the show having a much smaller scale probably helps in its favor.

Yeah not much background lore that's clearly meant to just be setups to jokes and plotlines that lead to more jokes down the line that years later once new writers come on starts getting treated as super deep serious shit. Then again sometimes it doesn't even need new writers for that to happen, so many fucking webcomics fell to that shit back in the 2000s-2010s when they started trying to pander to wider social media.

Yea I think R&M getting such a large fanbase so quickly made it kinda suck. I loved R&M when it first came out but can barely stand to watch it anymore. I do like Solar Opposites which is another Justin whatever his name is cartoon. It's just less known since its on Hulu which probably makes it better. It's probably something to do with having such a large audience makes the pressure to make great episodes a lot higher and having a large fanbase is gonna lead to infighting. But I'm glad Smiling Friends will never have a insanely large fan base. It leaves the writers to make a funny cartoon with hurting group 1 or group 2s feelings.

I liked parts of Solar Opposites, the Wall segments were fun, but good lord that show is the biggest offender when it comes to "make a pop-culture reference inl leui of writing a joke" writing I've ever seen.
