Anyone saying Smiling Friends is "too consistent" are the fags that try to paint Charlie and Pim as gay lovers. Which is actually a thing.
It's not perfect but it's the closest thing to a web series that remains close to what the creators had in mind.

Take Hazbin Hotel for example, the original pilot on youtube wasn't terrible, it even had Tomar! But Vivvienne Madrano sold out to amazon or whoever and they made it even far more gay than she originally did. I don't see Zach so willing to sell his creative soul to make a show he would mock with his name attached to it.

Zach "failed" to make Hellbenders but succeeded with Smiling Friends after maturing and honing his craft. I imagine If 2014 Zach and Chris got their wish they would be worse off now,like Stamper but with enough money to fund the hedonistic misery. Like if MDE WP wasn't nuked by Hackdecker, Sam Nick and Charls would've been neutrered and lobotomized to oblivion and made even more insufferable.
 
Never watched the show but the feature made me think I should check it out. First episode made me laugh in multiple different parts which I haven’t done watching a show in a long time. Thank you for the feature and giving me something new to watch.

Hellbenders has actually aged really poorly without the context of being so of-it's-time, it's a good thing they didn't find major success and get frozen in time in that style.
 
I just finished binge-watching both seasons, and I have to say: what a great show! I loved it.
Absurd humor, but without excessive profanity, sex, or gore.
It really made me smile.
I hope David Firth has more involvement, whether it's lending his voice or designing some background characters.
 
Very good episode. Despite being spoiled on a lot, it was still very enjoyable and funny. Something not mentioned yet is the return of war criminal Joshua Jomar. I particularly liked his performance as this funny little character.

There's a nonzero chance that Charlie visits totally not Kiwi Farms this season because one of the upcoming episode synopses is that he goes on the "dark side" of the internet. Either that or Zach is going to use it as an excuse to show a Chinese person get turned into a skidmark by a lathe on national television.

I'm probably mistaken but I thought Hellbenders was more Chris's thing, that's why I didn't bring it up but, I also never watched too much of it to be transparent.
But you're right, it's better for something like that to fail so better things flourish in the future
