I still can't believe they made a response the parody the Simpsons did recently (and did a better job).
The Simpsons parody was really mean, but deservedly so - nobody ever takes real shots at the Simpsons, because if you're a writer on yet another animated sitcom, on some lame Rick & Morty epigone or whatever, then you're probably still hoping to work there someday so if you do get involved in writing a joke about the Simpsons it's probably going to have a distinct lack of bite.

When the Simpsons had a quick swipe at Smiling Friends, it was as toothless as it was clueless, a shot taken at a hastily constructed strawman:

"Why do young people say this show has good jokes? I just see random objects screaming!"

While the Smiling Friends' jab at the Simpsons took shots at it for being a zombie show gone on several season too long past its prime that relies on vapid references to current trends ("Today's episode, Bart gets the latest model Mapple MyPad and a currently trendy pop star who will fade away in about a year guest voices as themselves"), that hasn't been in shouting distance of humor in decades.

Been following Zach since my friend in high school showed me Leo and Satan (It was Chris's project but Zach did some voices and animation on it and that's how I found him) on Youtube sometime around 2010-2011. Watching him go from making Kony 2012 parody videos and talking about living in abject poverty in Philly during the Sleepycabin days in the early 2010s to having one of the most popular animated shows on television today has been incredible. I don't think anyone else has earned their fame as much as Zach has dude is hilarious with an incredible work ethic.

Also season 3 has been fantastic and in my personal opinion the best so far not only in terms of animation quality but the writing and jokes.

The green Simpsons were great, but the pink fat guy on the bus being a reference to KingAssRipper is something I personally enjoyed.

One of my favorite episodes this season. Squim is really well-animated. There are plenty of little details, like him stopping to catch his breath he's talking and moving so much, or pausing to spot Wheelchair Guy.
It's planned out so that you have to pause just to see what he's doing at times, catching moments like this:

His soul coming out to do the Squim dance again just to get shot was one of the funniest things. It's up there with "I thought it looked delicious."

I swear every single time I see a modern Simpsons on TV it's just an entire episode written around a celebrity cameo.

The Simpsons jab at Smiling Friends falls short, because it feels like they have never seen a single episode. Most likely, one of the pearl clutching retards, begrudgingly watched a scene from the episode featuring Spamtopia and decided the whole show is like that. Smiling Friends parody has bite, because in such a short time, it managed to highlight all the problems The Simpsons suffers from:

1. It tries to stay relevant in the most embarrassing way possible, like some pathetic guy going through a midlife crisis.
2. It still feels lame, because the basic premise is old and tired.
3. It really needs to cease to exist.

I hope this little parody segment caused a lot of seething and dilating.

The funny thing is that I didn't even know The Simpsons did anything. They've been so far off my radar for years now that it doesn't even matter.

In any case, Charlie being a fat piece of shit is the best bit ever and I hope they keep doing it.

Idk whether such things are always by design or if they’re more often serendipitous, but Zach and Micheal frequently nail the details. The perfect performance by Creed as Mr. Frogs Dad is my go-to example, but the choice and delivery of “I love everything, I love life” as the phrase for your cartoonishly annoying over-positive character is another chef’s kiss moment.

He reminds me of Spongebob and Stimpy.

The episode description jokes have been on point this season. I mention it now because it took me far too long in the episode to realise that there was never going to be a magic mirror or dark net plot.

Edit: didn’t know they had them done for all the episodes

Also points out that Lisa is just a walking soapbox these days. Given how much of a creator's pet she is, that jab's gotta hurt.

Really good episode, gonna copy echo everyone and say this is probably the best of the season so far.

My favourite episode of the season so far. Just every part of it was perfect for every character and you can pause at any point for an additional gag you missed.

The Simpsons hitjob was good and really feels deserved by now.

Not a fan of the way the show is going, the last two characters both seem to be too similar (doing something that is good, but taking it too far). I really liked the show I really want it to succeed but to me it just ain’t hitting the way it used to :(

Not all the s3 episodes are below quality but a few just stick out to me as noticeably subpar. I really expected better out of this show, I hope it can turn around and end the season well.

Pretty decent episode, still think the peak of this season is Mole Man and the Halloween special, but the last two episodes were really fun
