Snopes Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Looks like Snoopes sucks more and more now then the co-founder is accused of sexual abuse by his recent wife.
The saga of Snopes co-founder David Mikkelson just keeps getting worse.

Mikkelson, who made headlines in 2016 for cheating on his co-founder wife and marrying an escort - only to be suspended by Snopes last month for mass plagiarism - has been accused of raping his now-ex escort wife 'every morning' and playing mind games with her, according to Newspunch.

In a September 9 Facebook post, Elyssa Young - who split with Mikkelson at some point in 2020, wrote:

“The worst thing about covid-19 for me personally is how complete my comprehension is that if i were to contract it I would die utterly alone."
(Fact check: False. Elyssa has just a 1% chance of dying, assuming she's under 50 years-old.)

The dude who runs it is an independent who has only been registered as a Republican. (His wife is Canadian.)
I found the most incredible page on there.
"Did the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Say Water Is Not a Human Right?"
They call it 'mixed' because there's one meme around which purports to quote- with quotation marks- the CEO of Nestle as saying "water is not a human right". Which, technically, he didn't.

But AKTUALLY he said "water is a foodstuff like any other, and like any other foodstuff it should have a market value." Which is to say, he said did say that water is not a human right. He just didn't use those exact words.

Wonder how much advertising Nestle promised them to be deliberately disingenuous about this?

Was just a funny page,
but then

Didn't the dude who runs Snopes go crazy after his wife left him and now it is just shitlib Fox News. It was good back when it was dedicated to debunking boomer chain emails.
