Reading through the Kyoto anime fire thread in A&H, we need this rating so bad. MATI just doesn't quite capture how pathetic it is to pretend to celebrate children being burned alive because their parents made an anime you didn't like. It's not shocking, it's not funny, it just shits up threads with idiots being performatively edgy.

I use "Mad At The Internet" when someone is just being overly angry in general. Someone can be MATI without being or trying to be edgy.

I disagree. I think we have to have a wider discussion about whether people are using reactions properly.

No, come on, autistic and edgy are completely separate. Autistic is categorizing every single trope in a work of fiction. Edgy is saying "Lol I like when people get murdered". Autistic and edgy would be "I love the christchurch video and have transcribed the entire thing into an ascii animation"

yeah, one of them was my thread. "Dumb" or "mad on the internet" covers it pretty well, in retrospect. Edgelords are kind of both but it isn't that big a struggle to choose one or the other for a specific post. I feel the pain the influx of yaniv related newfags have brought.
