So was this a real thing or did I just imagine it? - Looking for a Torrent

So once on the high seas I saw a torrent with an odd, russian-sounding name, and its description claimed to be basically Windows (this was before Windows 10) but "with phone home hacked out" and a bunch of stuff like that.

I tried looking it up but, again, it wasn't actually CALLED "Windows," and I can't remember the actual name... just the product description.

I've never been able to find it again and now I wonder if I just imagined it.

(And no, this isn't asking for links... just if anyone has a clue what this thing is)

It sounds like someone span up a custom image and they managed to remove or suppress the Windows functionality of calling back to the MS mothership to activate / check activation status - back in the XP days with Traxdata Red CD-R with custom XP installs on them floating around there was all kinds of "Unofficial Editions" of XP and later 7 some where just smaller footprints others had features baked in.

Some where legitimate Custom installers people had put together, others where Script Kiddy bait that had lots of malware packed in.

There are debloated ISOs floating around out there. You probably saw one of those.

RuTracker has plenty of RePacks and modified versions of various Windows distributives out there. Russian IT nerds have been making custom Windows versions that are half the size of a normal version and optimized (or packed full of backdoors ) for decades at this point.
