They literally had pictures of the quintessential fat, blue haired, pierced nose libshit on the page, and they’re advertising themselves as an “alternative spa” for those who don’t feel comfortable at traditional spas “blasting Enya” and “upselling perfume” …there are a ton of businesses like that here, it’s infuriating going into a place and they have the progress pride flag up by the register almost like a talisman to keep people like me away.
Why, though? I mean it sucks if you actually wanted to go to that place but if they'll advertise themselves as people who hate you and don't want your money, let them. It would save you spending your money on people who hate you. Why let them secretly hate you while pocketing your money?

It just shows how divorced those people who were born in relative wealth (likely even compared to society, as protests are an upper class phenomenon and have been for some time) and freedom. It is. The purpose of such protests is not to affect political change or persuade those who are not involved. The purpose of protests is for the social capital of the protestors, to show their piety. I've been reading Musa al-Gharbi's book We Have Never Been Woke, and he goes into this kind of status competition in detail.
