It actually helped us. There were some glitches I spent ages complaining about that never got fixed, then after one day of spam it was remedied immediately. It also caused people in chat to express further discomfort over who was gone, making it that much harder for it to be business as usual. It also contributed towards Luna's breakdown and gave a few ignorant SCers users more reason to be hating on Kiwis, even though I suspect that some of the ones spamming were our own people (more than just Dexter even).

I'd say it had an effect, as some of what was spammed directly became things she'd no longer approve of.


They figured that there was no point until it died down on it's own. "They" spent that time developing a Tor blocker instead, then went with the mod tools that already existed to try to fix the problem. These tools include the ability to delete every post from multiple users at a time, so it's not too hard to clean things up.

There are a few things about the spamming and Luna/Michael's reaction that I didn't understand. I was there before the spamming started and you could see people making accounts just to get ready for an attack. There were 13+ accounts building up with the name "Tor#" and nothing was done. The socks kept growing and they would spam in shifts with a big time gap between each session. Couldn't someone with the proper powers have temporarily shut down registration to prevent new socks, remove the spambots, and cleaned up the forum? At least that's how I've seen it done on smaller forums. I could be missing something though. Then you had Cake/Xena who thought "counter-spamming" was a good idea. Some of us watching honestly thought Xena was a troll.

They all had Luna's face on it. At the time, she couldn't change a user's avatar, so that tactic's been used in the past more than once to get images on there that she or others wouldn't like. Banning a user also doesn't remove them from the active user's list, so it was a subtler way to try to mess with her head.

Making that many accounts to prepare to attack is a way to get around her IP ban on registration. It's an old tactic that spammers there have relied on in the past.

Nah, she is legitimately wacky. As much as she fights tooth and nail to try to say that she has no mental abnormalities (beyond ADHD that's matured into ADD with age when it's brought up by someone else), labels within the ADD spectrum are thrown at the wrong disorders all the time. It was even thrown at me at one point, and my quirks stem from another source entirely.

She was this way over at Psychforums as well. Her behaviors are illogical and strange, followed by a display of zeal from figuring that anything she thinks must be true by the virtue of her having thought of it in the first place. If armed with enough patience, it's worth looking into her posting style to find patterns.

Xena/Cake's crazy has been in rare form this month from her being an easy target for the rest of the forum. Formerly homeless, defensively claims to not be crazy despite the contrary, "has a life" is her usual retreat excuse, and throws "I don't care" out as a shield. She's floundering all over the place and making a joke out of herself in the process while continuing to miss points left and right.

Just figured I'd share that detail for any who formerly noticed how weird she was acting, as the imbalance seems to be mounting on itself. If you want more I can link some stuff.
