I only drink lemon-lime sodas and don't do much experimenting. Coca-Cola specifically gives me a weird feeling in the back of my throat (like there's a feather inside it) and it's been so long since I've had Pepsi I can't say if that also happens.

Very high quality, authentic, Root Beer is by far my favorite soda. The problem comes down to actually finding a good brand. I'm convinced I am chasing after a unicorn at this point. So if you have any recommendations, I am all ears.
That’s a tough one, most name-brand root beers are made with artificial sassafras root extract due to safrole (a compound naturally found in the sassafras root bark used to flavor root beer), being a known carcinogen.

That said go for root beers made by family-owned breweries or ones that use natural flavorings. I also know that Hansen’s uses a safrole-free sassafras root extract in their root beer.

Edit: Big fan of Mexican Coke-Cola

I just learned that Jones Soda made two sodas based off of Blue Raspberry and Cherry Icees. 1C87E614-967D-4D49-9789-1835552B065C.jpeg A17B13D7-4E58-41B5-AC88-A8FDBF5AB1FF.jpeg
I just tried the Cherry flavor and it tastes just like its namesake and from what I’ve read the Blue Raspberry one is actually better than the Cherry one.

I must be weird since RC cola is my second favorite cola after Coke. I think its biggest issue, besides continuing to fuck up in magical ways due to some horrid curse, is it's kind of in between Coke and Pepsi. It kind of takes both elements, for better or worse depending on which one you like more.
I tried RC Cola. The taste was watered down Pepsi and texture was thick. Yuck.

The only people I know who like RC Cola are ones who grew up drinking it. It's like soda Stockholm syndrome.
I've been recently addicted to root beer floats, especially given the summer heat. I hate the flavored cokes0/Pepsi's though, especially cherry.

I love a good white birch beer, when I can get one. Fortunately, a few restaurants near where I live have started carrying it.

Dr Pepper is my favorite and I drink it maybe thrice a year. What I really like is vitamin-c fizzy tablets. Drop one of those into ice cold carbonated water to really spice it up.

I visited North Carolina and had Taco bell, I got baja blast and now I need to live my life knowing the best soda I ever tasted is thousands of miles away.
Welcome to my world. At least my area gets Zero Sugar Baja Blast at the Speedway/7 Eleven stores.

EDIT: Had to check, it wasn't Baja Blast but was a other "Baja" flavor, which I guess they like just throwing these names around to confuse me.

Coca-Cola dropped a new Coke Creations flavor called Dreamworld, like Starlight it’s available in both regular or zero-sugar and in 20 oz. bottles and those little mini-cans.

I tried a bottle of the zero-sugar version and I like it, the flavor seems to have a mix of fruit punch and orange creamsicle in it.
Baja Blast is truly my favorite Mtn Dew flavor.
Thirded but I do wish that they'd bring back the citrus-cherry Game Fuel.

I just tried it. I think it tastes like yellow tic tac. It's a bit too sweet for my general liking. I don't think it's bad, but I probably won't be getting it again.
