Except when Lantz died, Universal focused it as name recognition, while the studio focused their eggs in their basket with bigger animated franchises to milk, which were The Land Before Time, An American Tail and, especially later on and as of right now, Despicable Me and its Minions spinoff. Otherwise, Universal focuses way more on either Jurassic Park, Fast & Furious and more lower budget films from either comedies some produced by Judd Apatow or horrors some produced by Jason Blum, among other current IPs.

Ehh, most of the 70s movies from Disney were proven to be a joke after Walt died, especially when you compare head to head with other major movie blockbusters from the likes of Jaws, The Omen, The Godfather, Alien, Westworld, Rocky, Close Encounters, Apocalypse Now, Grease, Superman and especially Star Wars.

That said, the 70s and 80s did provide some underrated, more mature themed, gems like Escape from Witch Mountain, The Black Hole, The Watcher in the Woods, Something Wicked this Way Comes, Return to Oz and Tron, which led Disney to create the more mature brand studios, Touchstone and Hollywood.

But I still don't remember the title of the movie.
I'm sure this film broke the mouse's back!

Coca-Cola had this Move flavor out for a while now (and AFAICT it’s still available in supermarkets and convenience stores like 7-Eleven)…

I’ve had the zero-sugar version and it tastes a weird mix of a Coke and a pina colada, I’m not sure if it’s the same for the regular version.

It tastes like diet vanilla coke to me, which I miss.

Today I had the ultimate coke. It fucking sucks. If you mix it with whiskey, it tastes like diet coke.
diet coke sucks.

It was not the sugar free one. I had to drive an old lady around and I needed something to drink and I saw a weirdo coke and was like "why not".
I drank half, it sucked.

When I got home I still had half so I poured whiskey in it, it still sucked.
The old lady was cool, she bought me bao and bitched about her worthless son. (he is my age.)

Bao kicks ass, which I already knew. I also finally found out why I get so many ads for electronics with flip pricing, we have a huge flip subculture in the area I never saw for like ten years, but the old lady just rattled off flip language like it was nothing.

Her dead husband was a SEAL.

Usually my mom drives her around so she can do grocery shopping on post.

Lady is a fucking dynamo, we went to like three fucking walmarts in one hour. She's in a walker and she covers more ground than most able bodied people.

I have a shitty sunburn but at least I got bao.

I also found a kickass asian bakery, they don't fill shit with sugar like most bakeries, so now I know where to get black forest cake cheap as shit.

(My mom broke her foot so I did her a favor)

Mountain Dew Baja Blast is popping up in some stores as per summer tradition, it's also being dropped two new variants called Caribbean Blast (guava) and Passionfruit Punch (self-explanatory) and a rerelease of Mountain Dew Energy Baja Blast.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I also got a new Sodastream Art and some Diet Pepsi concentrate to replace a dilapidated Sodastream Genesis I picked up years ago. I don't know what changed mechanics-wise between the Genesis and the Art but the latter machine has produced sparkling water that's pretty damned close to store-bought bottles. The soda's also pretty close to what you'd get from a 2-liter bottle.

That's odd, I had it recently and I'm liking it more than Move but not as much as Starlight. That said I do agree that the fruity, almost bubblegum-like, flavor notes won't be to everyone's liking.

I liked the first sip, but the aftertaste was unpleasant. After that, it just tasted like diet coke to me. So far the only one I've liked is starlight. I never got to try move, they only had the sugar free version in my area, and I hate sugar free.

Summer tradition? Thats surprising, its sold in bottles at dollarama year round in canada

Coke's been putting out a new Coke Creations flavor, this one's apparently a collaboration with League of Legends. Like most Coke Creations it's available in both regular and zero-sugar versions and is available in either 20 oz. bottles or 7.5 oz. ten-packs.

I've had the zero-sugar version and it's not too bad, it's similar to Dr. Pepper but it still has that Coke bite.
Got a sodastream, and haven't really seen the need for soda brands, save for red bull. Reducing fruit juices into syrup, or finding some syrup recipes to try out yields some pretty nice results.
The liquid concentrate that SodaStream is also on sale every now and then, I used a recent one to stock up on their Diet Pepsi concentrate (and yes, it actually tastes like fucking Diet Pepsi) and their off-brand Diet Dr. Pepper concentrate.

Weird, it's usually only available outside of Taco Bells in the summer here in the States.

Does anyone here have any experience ordering store stock of bottled beverages? I noticed the other day while shopping that I actually saw a cane sugar cola in stock (Jarritos brand) when you almost never see one. It might've been a fluke for all I know. Never seen one in a store cooler, ever.
So I'm wondering: do Coke and Pepsi put pressure on retailers not to stock cane sugar colas? Is there something in their contracts that specifies penalties if you do force them to compete with smaller brands instead of just each other?

Is the SodaStream worth it if you drink a lot of soda? Trying to cut down on normal soda but it's hard.
I'd think so. You can put whatever in the resulting carbonated water, the carbonation lasts for a pretty long time until the canister is empty, and there's quite a few places to trade in the empties. It's a pretty good system, overall.

It leaves your stores? I keep finding it at every convenience store I go to and dollarstores.

Yes, I would however go to a place that sells your favourite pop syrup for fountain drinks. 2.5L jugs can be around $20 here. They can also be used for slushes.

It can be but one of things I've learned is that the carbonation isn't a 1:1 copy of the kind you'll find in regular soda, you can get close to it by giving your mixes the recommended maximum carbonation but it's closer to sparkling water's.

From what I’ve heard it’s less about rules set by companies and more to do with shelf space and the frequency of sales, it’s easier for a store like Kroger to sell Coke and Pepsi products rather than selling specialty sodas.

The one thing you do have to be careful of is which kinds of canisters your store will give you when you make the exchange, certain SodaStream stream models use the company’s new “quick connect” canisters over the traditional screw-in canisters.

It leaves US stores in order to keep the restaurant exclusivity, I don’t go into dollar stores often enough but I do know that some US dollar stores have exclusive varieties of Mountain Dew.

And AFAIK name-brand soda syrups are expensive here in the States (outside of Pepsi’s and Starry’s bottled SodaStream concentrates) and are sold in boxed bags, expect to spend anywhere between $75-$100 on a single 2.5 gallon boxed bag of soda syrup.

I think I saw a 7.5 oz variant of this in cases at a liquidation store over the weekend.

They had the "Coke Creations" branding, but the colour scheme was Barbie-pink (without any explicit Barbie branding).

I didn't realize it was actually a unique flavour and thought it was just some corporate globohome shit.

I believe you may have seen a case of Coca-Cola Move, a Coke Creations flavor they did in collaboration with Rosalía.

It was okay, the flavor profile was basically Coke mixed with strawberries and vanilla cream.

I think that's the one.

Nice detective work.

I kind of wish I'd picked some up to try it now, but it was 10$ for a case of mini-bottles at the "discount" store.

Maybe so, but they still dedicate shelf space to stuff that you know won't move.
Like, 7-11 will have its own store brand but they'll only put watermelon and two or three other miscellaneous flavors out. Never cola. Sometimes you don't even see root beer in this situation. Something about this stinks.

There's a purple baja blast now. it's just watered down with mountain dew midnight (or pitch black, or whatever the grape one is), not very good. There's also a pink one that's contaminated with major melon, it's a little better.
