There's a purple baja blast now. it's just watered down with mountain dew midnight (or pitch black, or whatever the grape one is), not very good. There's also a pink one that's contaminated with major melon, it's a little better.
I picked up both (they’re called Passionfruit Punch and Caribbean Splash) a couple of days ago and I had the one you tried, part of the reason why it tastes like Pitch Black is due to passion fruit having citrus notes in its flavor profile. I haven’t tried Caribbean Splash yet but it has guava flavor and I fucking love that shit.
Maybe so, but they still dedicate shelf space to stuff that you know won't move.
Like, 7-11 will have its own store brand but they'll only put watermelon and two or three other miscellaneous flavors out. Never cola. Sometimes you don't even see root beer in this situation. Something about this stinks.
Funnily enough 7-Eleven’s 7-Select soda line doesn’t have cola (7-Eleven used to have a cola and a cherry cola but they were discontinued sometime during the 90’s and early 2000’s) or root beer in it, they only have fruit-flavored sodas.

As for why some of those flavors are missing I’d chalk that one up to regional tastes but I’ve also heard that all but the blueberry and watermelon sodas were discontinued so YMMV, some of are flavors you don’t usually see in American sodas.

Coca-Cola had this Move flavor out for a while now (and AFAICT it’s still available in supermarkets and convenience stores like 7-Eleven)…

I’ve had the zero-sugar version and it tastes a weird mix of a Coke and a pina colada, I’m not sure if it’s the same for the regular version.
I had the regular version, and I thought it tasted like Jack & Coke. When I sipped it, I did a double take, and read the ingredients to see if I accidentally bought an alcoholic beverage.

I had the AI-created Coke flavor recently and it’s okay. It’s similar to Dreamworld but with a sharp flavor burst on the initial sip.

I’ve also been seeing this year’s Voo Dew pop up in stores and I bought a bottle of it. It’s basically Dew with a blast of cherry flavor reminiscent of cherry-flavored Air Heads.

I couldn't find the new Baja Blast flavors when they were still in season, sadly.

you niggers weren't kidding about mexican Coke, holy shit, that shit is, to put it in zoomer terms, bussin'.
I've been to Mexico for vacation many of times, and Mexican Coke is nowhere different than regular Coke, but that's because my taste is different and I can't really tell soda by taste.

Most of the Mexican coke sold in the US is explicitly made for export, if I recall correctly. If that's true, that might be why you've been underwhelmed with actual Coca-Cola from Mexico.

Have you ever tried it with just regular Coke from the US and the imported real sugar version, or just the one while you were in Mexico?

PepsiCo is bringing back MTN Dew Game Fuel, the two flavors making the rounds are the original citrus-cherry flavor with Halo Infinite branding and the other is called Mystic Punch (it’s partnered with Diablo IV and is fruit punch-flavored). They also quietly canceled Cobra Cane, a candy cane-flavored Dew that would’ve been this year’s Holiday flavor, for unknown reasons.

Hmmm, peppermint flavored Mt. dew might've topped last year's Gingerbread House flavor in pure vile disgust. I wonder if they mocked up all the marketing shit, then finally had somebody actually try it and become physically ill over how bad it was.

Their Voo-dew Halloween versions are usually decent. A few have been pretty damn good. But the Christmas flavors? They seem to range from "barely drinkable" to "utterly foul on every level".

Has anyone tried that Starry soda that’s replaced Sierra Mist?

I’ve seen it fucking everywhere, but I haven’t tried it out myself yet

Gingerbread Snap'd was 2021's Christmas flavor, last year's Fruit Quake. And I agree on the holiday flavored Dews being iffy, I tolerated Fruit Quake for the most part but Gingerbread Snap'd was basically a one-and-done Dew for me.

But I doubt the lukewarm reception of recent Holiday Dews led to Cobra Cane being cancelled since these flavors are usually tested months in advance, I think it has more to do with PepsiCo not wanting the marketing for Game Fuel's "return" and Cobra Cane to clash at retail. But then again, a bunch of Dew flavors (Major Melon, Spark, and Thrashed Apple) and the brand's entire MTN DEW Energy line are being discontinued so maybe there's some shenanigans afoot.

I've had the zero-sugar version, both Sierra Mist and Starry are similar enough for me to not really notice anything out of place flavor-wise. That said, I think the whole "we renamed out lemon-lime soda to one word because it's more recognizable to younger shoppers and it can compete with Sprite" nonsense that PepsiCo said was behind Sierra Mist's end is only part of it. I think the main reason was to get rid of the real sugar used in Sierra Mist's formulation with high-fructose corn syrup.

I gave it a try, and I'll say the formula is better than the last version of Mist. Still recommend Sprite or 7-Up over it though.

Oh yeah, I'm still an Uncola girl, but the morbid curiosity has been there for a while.

It's fine, still picking sprite or 7-up over it tho, don't even like lemon-lime flavored soda that much anyways.

Baja Blast and Voltage are really the only mtn dews I'll drink. Idc if I am a consoomer who'll die by the age of 40 if I continue drinking this shit till I'm 40, imma still be consooming. Can't even get Blast in stores anymore since Taco Bell bought the rights too it, so I guess I'm stuck with having to go through the Taco Bell drive through at 11:00pm and asking the underpaid 23 year old wagie if I can get a large watered down baja blast. Fucking evil that I have to ask for no ice if I don't want my Baja blast to be watered down three minutes after I get it.
