Lmao good luck with that part. That would not seem to solve the problem I'm having which is I don't want discord to be able to Snoop on a server and ban people for saying nigger if you're still connecting to them.

Enable Chromium developer mode and download the extensions from the source. 100% percent control over extensions that way.My kneejerk reaction is that getting my extensions from the chrome webstore seems to defeat the purpose of taking those additional privacy steps.
I assume you've tried Riot/Matrix, or recognize that it is an absolute shitshow if you have to host it (totally unmanageable database). That would not seem to solve the problem I'm having which is I don't want discord to be able to Snoop on a server and ban people for saying nigger if you're still connecting to them.
Really sucky because I have tried several discord alternatives and none of them have really matched up in terms of features even if the client itself is dog shit there isn't a better solution yet.

Have you tried RocketChat? It seems to be less badly designed than Riot/Matrix, although both of them need to use Jitsi for voice/video conferencing.
If you're doing the gaymer voicechat thing primarily, Mumble is basically an open source TeamSpeak. Doesn't really do all the gay chat history stuff that Discord does though, just oldschool IRC style chat.
If you just want text and voice mumble is the kino play.Yes, I have tried all of those except Mumble. All of the others have fatal issues in one area or another that have prevented me from making the leap.
What was the dealbreaker with rocket.chat? I've been meaning to host it for a while, because my friends are sick of dealing with Discord and want to move back to fucking Skype. So I'd really like to know if it has any massive, glaring flaws.Yes, I have tried all of those except Mumble. Has it ever been confirmed Discord admin snoops on servers? Or are they just being fed leaks? I don't trust them at any rate, long term it's a good idea to get the fuck off of it.
Reportedly the devs sold it, here's a github discussion.Uh-oh? Just got this and I have recommended the extension in the past. Maybe there should be a thread for "Malware? In my..." thread. I have no idea what it's about just got the pop-up in chrome.

I saw that but it runs into the issue of trust. The notice goes back to November, I only got it now, and the alternative is..Reportedly the devs sold it, here's a github discussion.
Here's a replacement fork.
While not surprising, it is absolutely horrifying that stuff like this can happen. This is why I'm fairly hesitant to install extensions.Uh-oh? Given the autism of what "free" means in the FLOSS community (e.g . Stallman) it depends what license the keylogger is licensed under. While not surprising, it is absolutely horrifying that stuff like this can happen. This is why I'm fairly hesitant to install extensions.
Not to derail, but if linux starting including a keylogger for the purposes of 'finding nazis', how many of their devs would just go along with it?
Is yar-haring out of the question? Because that's usually the answer if you want source quality.Any recommendations for finding the highest quality audio for songs and downloading without resorting to stuff like Spotify?
Outside of the above if you want to go the more legal route Qobuz is a streaming service but there is also a store where you can buy hi res music (from CD up to 24 bit (not sure how high of a bitrate they offer) depending on song/album)Any recommendations for finding the highest quality audio for songs and downloading without resorting to stuff like Spotify?
https://picard.musicbrainz.org If the file is the full song this might work.I'm looking for decent music recognition stuff. Shazam and Midomi are fucking retarded and you have to sing through mic in order to search anything. Is there anything that lets you simply upload a file instead?
4k Video Downloader is fantastic for CASUAL video downloading (I own a pay copy) and suggest it to many people, along with youtube to mp3 which is also a very nice little program.Since Digi is trying to take down all his old content and I've been trying to grab what I can
It made me think about how to get a shit ton of youtube in one go.
I'd recommend a YouTube downloader called 4K Video Downloader.
What makes the program so good next to others I've seen is it's ability
for downloading a shit ton of youtube. Got a channel or a playlist?
put the link in and it'll save the whole thing in a Rez of your choosing or as an mp3.
Most downloaders I've found haven't let me do more than 20 but this one is unlimited.
you can even set it up to have a sub feed where new vids from channels are downloaded automatically.
To get the really good stuff you need to pay or find a crack but it's still worth it.
