What part do you want open source? Are you looking for a data center that has published the source code of all their systems that hold private customer data?

For converting email to RSS. This shit is necessary for websites that don't provide RSS feeds, but you don't care about enough to want shitting up your emails.

Kavita is used to host a centralized ebook/comic library that you can access with secondary apps like FBreader. FBreader supports TTS on android, which you can use with AI TTS like Piper (https://k2-fsa.github.io/sherpa/onnx/tts/apk-engine.html).

For hosting and syncing podcasts/audiobooks across platforms with its own android app and PWA.

is this good for browsing an iphones files? im just trying to legally download music onto an apple phone using an windows device.

what good software can I use to see/edit .lrc/.srt files? i ask cause there's some subtitles that i'd like to edit in the near future

I wanna be able to run a Debian stable machine on my work PC.
Depends how you want to go about it, you could install on a portable nvme SSD and boot to that, or if you want to go hands off could put in a KVM and use a micro PC like the Intel stick PC's or a RPI and bypass the work pc completely.

Depends on what requirements you have like network shares access and whatnot.

Could also just request a local admin account on your machine from them 'to test some software we want to look at'

I knew a mate who had his windows on a vhd stored on a USB HDD to boot into to bypass stuff when he had to lol

DaVinci Resolve can change .srt files (even create them from scratch). I know it's preached to death, but it's really the best video editor/color grader (with a really good audio mixing) and it's standard for a reason. If you are an open software autist, I guess you have to keep suffering and go on with this:
Not sure about lrc, but for srt, SubtitleEdit is great. It can even play your video with your subtitles so you can preview your work.

Any recommendations for screen recording software?

I was thinking of using ShareX but it minimizes the current window before it starts recording, it makes me select a screen to record etc. I want something like Nvidia Overlay - you press a button and it just works, press it again and it stops. Sadly Nvidia Overlay doesn't work - it just says "saving recording" when I start recording and it doesn't record shit.

OBS, it's not pretty, but it works well. Both for streaming and screen recording,

DVD Decrypter has worked whenever I've tried it and it's freeware. Hasn't been updated since 2005 but who cares? It works!

Turn the volume down when it's nearing completion as it has an ear-rape jingle it plays when the rip is done.

Resolve would be overkill for his use case; he's probably just editing downloaded subs for ripped movies.

Can anyone still vouch for Privacy (virtual cards)? It looks like a good service but I still feel squeamish about connecting my bank account, even if the reasoning makes perfect sense.

I'm ashamed to suggest this, because I'm not a weeb, but Aegisub is pretty decent if you want to do fancy things... And it's surprisingly easy to start with.

edit: you can do some really fancy text stuff without needing a video editor and then burn it in via re-encoding.

Currently using Tivimate for IPTV access through a TV stick, but I'm looking to see what IPTV Player options are available for PC. Does anyone have any recommendations for Tivimate alternatives for PC and how they've held up?

I've tried Bluestacks and other Android emulation software and none have done a good job. I'd rather avoid emulation and go for something built specifically for PC use (more specifically for a Mac).

Kodi with the IPTV Simple add-on would be a good place to start. If you aren't a fan of the default UI there are hundreds of skins out there to test out.

Good shout. I usually use the default Kodi UI for other RD-related stuff but I'll have a look into it for this if it's unbearable.
