Stick with your diesel genny. Filter used veg oil, thin it with diesel, save money.
I've got a 500+w solar system just for running my freezer. I still need to use my petrol genny in winter and can only have it running for around 6hrs a day altogether. I can power it for around 14-18hrs in summer. I'm planning to get one of those fancy lithium batteries soon to improve on that, altho my current batteries are far from garbage. I might exchange my 240v freezer for a 12v fridge freezer as well, coz honestly, running a 240v appliance like that off solar has been 2 year pain in the fucking arse. live in the north of the UK tho, if you live somewhere super sunny that hardly has any winter and very little cloud cover then a solar genny might not be a complete waste of money. Only if you get the most powerful one available tho.
They're only good for charging phones and small TVs for a few hours IMO.
