Some people really do seem like pure evil. You know, not just assholes who had a bad day or made shitty choices, but folks who seem wired to hurt without any specific reason just for the sake of it, or women who are doing whorish stuff without any reason at all and without dignity. When you hear stories about serial killers, child abusers, or those dictators who smile while ordering massacres, it feels like there's no other way to describe them. It's like they don't have that normal human switch.

It makes you wonder if some folks are just born broken or if life twisted them so badly they became something inhuman

society needs to stop being so soft and naive. We should focus on early detection schools and doctors spotting kids with serious callous-unemotional traits and getting them serious help before they grow up like that

Agreed.

Woah now, let's not criticize women unless we want that to be the whole discussion. I'm sure it's different when women do it. ;)

One of these isn't like the others.

I figure it's maybe half and half. I was going to use Islam and Judaism as examples of life twisting people into monsters, but now that I remember the inbreeding common with both of those religions, I'm now making the opposite argument I had first.

This is just eugenics, and now we're back to evil dictators. For clarity's sake, I wouldn't call all dictators evil. If we're going to discuss dropping the naivety and making hard decisions, dictators often come to mind, really.

I don't believe we can trust teachers to assess mental stability or risks. This will end up like the UK with the teacher trooning out your kid and sending you to reeducation camp if you don't agree.

There are also a lot more evil people than you imagine. It does not take the worst acts to be the worse type of person. Scamming an elderly out of their life savings or selling drugs to kids for example. Teachers themselves can be petty, cruel and evil in some cases.

I don't think that there is much that can be done when it comes to people who have sociopathic or psychopathic traits. What teachers are in a good position to notice and report is family conditions likely to breed or exacerbate anti social behaviors. These traits are not a guarantee of outcome. Many people live perfectly normal and successful life with them.

Should we be harsher with prison sentences and better identify and prevent offenders with a high likelihood of re-offense? Yes.

So... they're pure evil and don't have a human switch... but also we should get them help....
HOW? What the fuck should we do if their brains don't work like most people's brains do?
Lobotomy?

The worst kinds of evil acts are performed "for people's own good" and that's what you're suggesting here.

Patrick Tomlinson is a good example. Just a mean, spite-driven loser who exists solely to pollute online discourse and spread his spite from his couch. He is an unemployed, daughter abandoning, infant threatening sociopath. Fortunately he's also low IQ so the damage he can cause is minimal.

This has been the case for decades now. It's how the private reform school grift got going. It did very little to improve the kids' lives. First, because the people "helping" are often monsters themselves, and second, the parents are often to blame, so treating the child is pointless without treating the parent as well, and good luck convincing a millionaire sociopath that they need therapy lol. You have a better chance of setting up a Church in Saudi Arabia.

If some universal system were set up to "cull" sociopathic people from society, what controls would be in place to ensure sociopaths aren't the ones deciding what is considered sociopathic? Since sociopaths often seek power, it's probable that the absolute best effect this system would have would be none, with multiple horrific societal endings as other options.

I know this idea is unrealistic; doctors and teachers can be evil and terrible too, the problem can't solve itself, and parents are very important. If the parents are terrible, they will create monsters. I think the most effective solution is harsher punishment for evil and merciless acts.

We all agree that The most effective immediate solution is permanently separating them from society through secure incarceration or a maximum-security psychiatric facility.

But my idea is Before it happens, Removing children from abusive environments, treating early signs of cruelty (like animal abuse), and providing intense psychological support before the age of 12. Once a person's brain fully matures into severe psychopathy, it is nearly impossible to cure, making prevention the only truly effective cure.

It sounds like you do want soft and naive. A huge portion of violence and unrest in a civilized society is committed by a small minority. It's easy to tell them apart from the general populace because of their number of prison stints and the terror their neighborhood feels prior to them being released by the bleeding heart system. You want hard-ass and worldly? Kill them, once they are no longer juveniles. Three strikes and you're out, live on stream so everybody sees and experiences the connection between deed and consequence. Give half a century and even the niggers are going to be a lot more chill.
