Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

oh hey, you guys are back. I think deathwatch on SA is going to take a long time because users are going to continue to trickle instead of drain away, but what Null said a few pages back is definitely true. A lot of posters on SA are just there out of habit and any major change to the appearance or function of the board is going to make a lot of people think, "what the fuck am I doing here? i'm spending how much to post with these retards?". And once the habit's broken there's no way to get it back because other sites do everything SA does but better - driveby shitposting is Twitter's MO, dedicated discussion on any topic is Reddit or any other specialized forums' game and hell every single forum on the internet looks and runs better. Closing GBS cost them a lot because a bunch of retards like myself stopped posting for a week then couldn't be fucked starting again. I'd bet my bottom dollar that Lowtax is aware of that (it's why he changes the GBS stylesheet when he wants to signal a big shakeup) and it's probably also why he's so reluctant to migrate the forums unless he can get them to look exactly the same.

also when I left I quickly set up a forum to see how it was done and despite never having done it before and using nothing but free shit it was faster, way nicer-looking and easier to use than SA by a long shot.

Lowtax will definitely lose users but I don't think it will be as many as he thinks.

There'll be an instant drop but it won't be heaps, it'll just accelerate the downward trend a bit. Lowtax is kind of stuck now because nothing's going to bring in new posters so everything depends on keeping the users he has buying avs and re-registering after bans and so on. There's no point paying to update the forums because they sort of work ok and there's no fancy feature he could chuck in to make some new poster pay to join a web forum in TYOOL 2017. If I was him I'd just leave SA to rot while looking for other ways to make some cash, and I'm pretty sure that's what he's done aside from occasionally freaking out when he sees what his forums have been reduced to.

He's looked into every way to make some extra cash and hasn't been successful. I think the only thing he hasn't looked into is a 9 to 5.

Also the guy that fleeced Lowtax out of money to do nothing was totally almost done with the new forums but some personal stuff came up.

Okay, I'll bite: Why not hand over what he did finish and save Lowtax a shitload of money and time? This dumb fucker's either not even trying to make up a good lie or his work is terrible and he knows his worthless spaghetti code would out him.

Oh it is definitely out of habit. When I was effectively permabanned for wrongthink (I broke no rules, it was an arbitrary decision), I thought about protesting it or even buying another account. That lasted for all of 12 seconds because I realized that it was the only way he was making money, through bullshit bans and chain probations. Not to mention I loved shitposting and the like, and no way the humorless cunts at SA would ever tolerate it again (and I could do it for free on a multitude of other sites). Not to mention I looked at all the entertainment 10 bucks could buy me and I wondered what the fuck I was thinking.

I just stopped going. And I was going there for nearly a decade. For SA, it was always short term over long term. The forums became as cancerous as they did because he put mods in that would ban people for wrongthink and they would re-reg. If your model gives ypu money for bannings, it is only natural to put shitty, ban happy mods in power. But that doesn't work anymore.

Now he is worrying because users are leaving with bannings and not registering again, most of the funny posters have since been driven off or just lurk so there's no content to attract new users. And the mods are still ban happy. He only woke up because his idiotic model was costing him money now instead of making it. And of course no one is buying shit, why would they want to when some dumb cunt mod with no sense of humor on a comedy site closes funny threads, probates you for jokes and try to create a massive circle jerk with on opinion allowed in nearly every fucking forum.

I think the only thing he hasn't looked into is a 9 to 5.

Who's gonna hire him? He has no practical experience in anything for almost 15 years, MAYBE he could get a pity job at some dying "comedy" site like Cracked but more than likely nobody would hire him because what exactly does Lowtax bring to the table?

At this point, he has a 15 year gap in his resume and good luck explaining "kinda-but-not-really-running a dead gay comedy forum" as your previous job for a decade and a half to any serious potential employer.

Edit: lol not to mention "Oh, by the way Mr. Kyanka we googled your name and saw something about the Secret Service being called to your house, could you tell us more about that please?"
