Oh I've been in Grindr. It's a goddamn nightmare. I would never genuinely suggest it. I met one guy I was able to determine was far too boring to be dangerous and had an extremely unfulfilling hookup and realized that I'm not cut out for that scene. But Jesus the messages I got ranged from goofy to downright terrifying. Lots of twinks born-post 9/11 calling me "daddy" (which is hilarious because I'm definitely not a "daddy" by any means. I'm just bearded and paunchy). Some 21 year old kid asked me to lock him in a cage for the weekend. Three different guys asked me to rape them. Lots of methods heads. Old guys who got very angry when rejected. An alarming number of guys who wanted to have unprotected sex. That's just the shit I remember off the top of my head. I had more fun trolling assholes than anything else. I got a lot of messages where the people talked like cave men. I screen capped a lot of shit to show to my friends because it was often a great source of comedy. My favorite ever message was this:

Grindr is bad. Very bad. If you're reading this and you haven't tried Grindr and are considering it. Don't. I actually felt MORE alienated and isolated after having been on there a short time. I ended up trying Scruff which isn't perfect but is considerably better and found a boyfriend I've been with for almost two years now.
