Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

I'm having a hard time figuring out what was wrong with this post, other than resident DnD posters getting hysterical over some imagined racism against bugmen.

Screen cap it for those that do not wish to help Jeffrey recoup his losses.
It's a huge thread. It's one of the few that I actually watch on SA. I just posted the link for anyone who still has an account at SA.

They shut down the old thread but never gave a link to the new one. I ended up having to message one of the characters I knew that posted in the old thread and he pointed me to where to find the new thread.

I wish they'd repost the post I made that they got mad at Cyrano for praising when they repost that "Cyrano thanked PCOS Bill for a racist screed"

I put a lot of work into it, with citations and all.

I did it for him https://contactout.com/Andrew-Haeberlin-10339120
That Cyrano’s dox? Archive. Though you may want to make sure his email and phone number are visible without a login to that site.

This thread was interesting because it resulted in a quick fix to this part of the site. The issue was quickly resolved and the text amended, so it now reads as follows:

And this is a very fascinating statistic. First, let's look at the fact that 94.5% of the people browsing Something Awful have accounts. Less than 6% of the site's visitors are just dropping by to look at something. Let's compare that to this site, as of this moment:

31% of this site's current traffic are actively logged in, by comparison. Many, many more are lurking without accounts or are browsing something interesting that they happened upon.

When looking at this we should also take note of another statistic. Something Awful shows 4,284 users browsing in the above screenshot taken minutes ago; this site shows 4,140 users browsing, also as of minutes ago. KF's traffic is somewhat inflated due to that it has a separate category for robots browsing, but I am fairly certain that SA's traffic is as well; SA just does not distinguish between the two.

Shortly put, the Kiwi Farms gets almost as much traffic as Something Awful at this point. And it probably gets more traffic a lot of the time. In terms of people visiting, the Kiwi Farms may be overtaking Something Awful.

I think its more accurate to say SA has degraded below KWF. Interesting analysis, I'm wondering what they broke fixing that.

Keep in mind that SA is actively hostile to browsing if you don’t have an account that you paid for. It’s a 20 year old paywall so it’s about hammering you with ads and banners, but that still discourages random people.

The front page is the draw of course.

Edit: it’s also actively hostile to logged in users with sane takes but that’s a different conversation.

The front page that hasn't been updated in nearly a year.

In his latest newspost/rant big boss said that either farms traffic or membership doubles every year. I don't know if I quite believe that but for an INFAMOUS ALT-RIGHT HACKER TERRORIST ON STEROIDS we've had pretty astounding growth.

It's because people come here because they think we're a forum version of pol or a bunch of weeb degenerates.
