Due to total luck, I managed to buy a Series X yesterday. I have all my games on an external hard drive. I wanted the Series X enhanced games on the internal SSD to take full advantage of the system.

Well don't bother moving the games, DLC, ect over ftom the external drive. Just download them again. I moved them over and when I went to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it said " Series X version detected downloading now. " its the same size as the game on the external drive.

So don't waste time moving games over. Just move the saved games over.

Do you even have to bother moving the save game files though? From my understanding both Sony & Microsoft sync those to the cloud (assuming you're a PS+ or Live! user).

By my experience no, everything downloaded normally and my saves were fine

If you're using an external hard drive, it's cold storage for Series X.

You can play older games from external drive on Series X. But if you want to take advantage of the fast load times and play the enhanced series X games, you have to put it on the internal SSD.

And then there is this guy. Apparently He didn't know you shouldn't eject the disc while its being used in the disc drive.

yes, who would expect the xbox shitting itself performing functionality that was already working at least forty fucking years ago.
and how the fuck does it corrupt an installation? if you eject during the install it should be canceled and rolled back, if it's already installed what the fuck does the game still write after that point, not to mention what does the disc matter after installation besides a copy protection check? even dual-reading from both disc and drive for speed is pretty pointless with a SSD - and that's still reading.

sounds like the quality microsoft engineering master race had to suffer through the last 30 years.

Don't Xboxes across the board now have cloud saving free for all?

The above posts... Wait a few months -at the very least- before getting a newly launched console.

That's something we should have taken more seriously since the 360/PS3/Wii era.
